Did midway market raise the price?

crazy horse's avatar

I hate to start another thread on the high food prices in the park, but did midway market raise the price this year?

I could of sworn it was $12 last year. This year it's $16.

Am I imagining things?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think we already discussed this and determined that a gas leak would be the easiest way to fix the problem. Actual demolition equipment would require too many permits and the rental fees would be more than I could afford.

So have the prices gone up this year, or am I crazy?

Hey its true! The prices for food in the park is outrageous!

$4.00 for a stupid pretzel is really Bad

I can go to Meijer buy a box of 12 (super pretzels) for $3.99 go home bake them. Leave them in the sun while i play on the coasters. Come back for lunch and have a HOT fresh pretzel.

The only food we ever eat at the park is homemade-style fries at Happy Friar. We keep cheese, meat, lettuce, tomato, etc. and some good sub buns in our fridge at Breakers, and just run back to our room for lunch.

That way we avoid the outrageous food prices in the park without having to take time to go off-property for more reasonably priced food.

Last year I think I paid $12.95 for lunch & 15.95 for dinner.

Everyone take an hour out of there day at the park and go to McDonald's.

It wasn't that long ago that it was ten bucks during Halloweekends.

I still do not comprehend the hatred against MM. We were at Soak City last Wednesday. To feed my family of 4 (1 chicken sandwich basket, 1 hamburger basket, 1 cheeseburger basket, 1 cheese pizza, and 3 gatorades) I dropped $45. I pay less than that at MM and we get way more food. I know it is not the best food in the world but compared to what I paid for what I consider a simple lunch at Soak City, I will gladly take Midway Market.

I think the price's on everything is going up. Pretty soon they'll be charging you to go to the restroom. And to wash your hands.

Charging to go to the restroom.... Sounds like what I used to do in Roller Coaster Tycoon.

You guys are too young to remember, but pay stalls in public restrooms were common during the 60s. I think the stalls at CP took a dime to get in.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I would pay a dime just to dry my hands in the Dyson Hand Dryer in the Magnum Restrooms. haha.

I clearly remember the restroom by Space Spiral requiring dimes back in the 60's.

That is a good way to nickel and dime everyone.

Yes, they did raise the price. I think one dollar. I'm a big fan of MM and I agree with Shades comments. However, the $17 dinner buffet is too much for me. We won't go after the dinner price kicks in anymore.

Tip, if you go in just before they raise it to dinner price (3pm I think) you can eat the dinner items at the lunch price. You may have to wait a few minutes until they make the changeover to do so. Plus, you can get the last of the lunch items.

It's interesting to compare this to KI's buffer offering of Backyard Barbeque. KI's is $13 ($10 for gold/platinum passholders). Although the selection certainly isn't as varied as Midway, you also don't get guilted into leaving a tip for a server who just brings drinks and takes plates.

At these new prices, you won't find me there anymore. Too bad too, because this was the last place in the park that I would eat at.

It's now cheaper to get a rib platter at famous daves.

Not to mention that the quality of the food at midway market is not no where near worth $16.

Just go find my thread with 2008 prices of all the food posted.

It will bring light to the situation.
