it would appear as though I am late again on information. I did not look at the other topic. :(

Cedar Point just uploaded one about a half hour ago. Take a look.

Edit: Is it just me or is that video incredibly cheesy?

I thought it was fine. Well, except for the guy barking like a dog.

His enthusiasm did seem a bit forced.

"Thank the Phoenicians!"

Ava and I rode it this afternoon, and again this evening. Wow, what a lighting package. What they've done in this regard is simply head and shoulders above the previous standard for the company. High kudos.

As far as the ride experience itself, it's certainly not an extreme thrill ride -- or at least it shouldn't be for most people. The carriage goes up, spins, you look around at the pretty surroundings, then it goes back down again.

The most interesting thing about the ride is that, with that gorgeous lighting package, it draws your attention from a surprising number of places in the park. At dusk we watched it running...from the queue for Maverick.

Thanks, Aaronosmer. Kind of a different take on the POV compared to most of the others. And is that a parachuting videographer in the beginning?

I said the same thing........

Having just seen the video posted over on Screamscape of the seats nearly bumping into each other I'm pretty confident I won't be riding it. I think this ride is going to make news this year for the wrong reasons.

They have guidelines in place to not let bumping happen. They will not run it in high winds and they make it a high priority to fill all the seats. If all the seats are filled, there's very little chance that bumping can happen when the ride starts to slow down on the decent.

The conditions in that video were not favorable. It was really windy and there were only a few people on it. It was after that run that they decided how exactly they wanted to handle the issue. In all it's a safe ride, there's really nothing to worry about Chief. I encourage you to ride it, it's quite exhilarating.

Plus, Cedar Point wouldn't run it if they were certain it was a big problem. :)

Thanks, Jason. Not long after I posted that I remembered North Coast and the new OnPoint blog update has Becca parasailing and there are some cool pics she took, too. She must have been the one taking the video.

Agreed, Adam. I'm pretty certain that if there was any danger, they wouldn't be running it. The fact that it only opened last week is a testament to them taking all the time they needed to make sure it was safe. Which I am grateful for. A safe ride is worth the wait. At least we haven't been waiting like Knoebel's has. Flying Turns definitely turned into a long, ongoing project. I digress, my first spin on WS is Friday...I can't wait!
