The Official Wizard Of Oz Collectible Card Trading Thread!

SuperS0nicSam's avatar

The main arcade has a new redemption game this year called "The Wizard Of Oz". The game is a typical coin pusher, except the game drops collectible cards, and chips of varying points values onto the playfield at set intervals. There are 7 cards to collect, and if a player collects a full set, they are worth 5000 points. It seems people are trading these at the park, and if you are going to be at the park a lot this summer, why not trade cards? Post what you have to trade, and when you will be at the park!

2 x Cowardly Lion

2 x Glenda

1 x Wicked Witch

1 x Tin Man

Will post more as I get them. Pretty open availability to be at the park to trade.

When I read the title of this thread, I was tempted to call spamanigans...

Exactly what I was thinking.

I'm defiantly checking this out next time I go. Seems pretty fun

^I'm going to defiantly rebel against this.

Here's a pic of the tokens and cards:

Green tokens = 5 tickets

Red tokens = 20 tickets

Cards = 50 tickets

Collect all seven cards for a 5000 ticket bonus

This game is by far the best value in the park. Normal coin pushers are 1 credit for 1 quarter. This one is 12 credits for 1 dollar.

Seven, this game is so addicting, people were trading cards in the arcade and cheering each other on. I'm gonna save everything I get from this game until the end of the season. My duplicates are always available for trade, as I will be at the park around 3 - 4 times a week. if you like redemption games, and go to the park a lot, this is a no brainer. hope to have at least 20,000 tickets from this by the end of the season.

Leave it to the new guy to stay serious and get the thread back on topic. ;)

It certainly does look like fun.

Completed a set today. Found out that Toto is the rarest card to find. I was told by the arcade lady that there was only 1 or 2 Toto cards in the whole machine, and I was the first person this season to get one.

I have edited the second post to show my updated list of trades. Thread still seems a little slow, but hopefully that will change as people get addicted to this game lol.

I can't tell if this is 73 years too late, or 27 years too early.

Probably the latter...there is also a pinball coming out based on Oz....it's the only coin pusher I've ever seen that gives chips and prizes instead of tickets....

It is an old license, but WoO is a timeless classic that almost everyone knows....and it's one of the few redemption games at the park that is actually social and a lot of fun to play....

I also enjoy the Wizard of Oz slot machines, the original game and the Ruby Slippers versions. Haven't had much luck on the newer versions/variations of the game.

And save the spiel about slot machines being a sucker's game.

So does this mean that since you have possibly the only Toto card available that no one else will be able to get Toto? (Or only 1 more person will be able to get Toto if there are 2 available)?

I've heard the people with Fast Pass get all the Toto cards they want.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

I'm assuming that there are 1 or 2 Toto cards per box of cards they load in the machine. The card dispenser serves all 3 play areas, so a box of cards can go pretty quick. The machine has been loaded at least 2 times this season, I will have a concrete answer today or tomorrow when I go again.

I'm assuming once he turns it in, it gets placed back into the machine.

Sucks if those getting Toto never turns them in XD

I played one of those machines at IAAPA a couple years ago. I think it was brand new that year. It's horribly addicting. Thankfully at IAAPA they had it rigged up with push-buttons to get credits, otherwise I would have probably dumped all my real money into it.

The Toto I have will be traded in today. I will turn in complete sets as I get them, but will keep duplicates for trade. I am not going to hoard the cards....
