Valley

Anyone see on screamscape Mav valleyed between the horseshoe roll on 5/22. I guess it was during testing, they got it pulled through pretty quickly and had it up and running later that day minus that train.

Re: Valley

Yeah, I was there that day, and watched them (over the course of the day, cause it took about 4 hours) winch it to the top of the roll, tie it in place with a chain, then eventually release it.

The following trains that were sent through for testing, I've never seen them so slow through there, and I was afraid it was going to valley again, this time full of employees.

I have pics on my cell phone, I'll try and send them to myself and upload them later.

Re: Valley

I saw it, got a pic of it, and rode it twice after if opened.

Here is the pic. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v492/kennywood_racer/cedar%20poin...-23001.jpg

Yins for the Burgh? The Point and that park that has the word wood in it are mines favorite!

Re: Valley

It seemed like so much bigger of a deal when Raptor valleyed.

However, the spot where Mav valleyed was pretty convenient, just get it through one cork and launch her away.

Re: Valley

It was a bigger deal because it was a windy day and an empty Raptor train should have never been dispatched. So instead of waiting for the wind to die down and possibly opening later in the day (Closing day by the way) the ops pretty much screwed the pooch and we were stuck without one last ride on Raptor.

Re: Valley

It's pretty incredible that the train got stuck upside down like that, I think.

Re: Valley

^ Um. It didn't.

That picture is after they had used a winch to pull it up there, before they sent it down the other side into the launch tunnel.
