Cedar Point slogan

With the new marketing campaign, does anybody know if Cedar Point's or Cedar Fair's slogans will change this year? I like "Ride On" and don't wanna see it go but the "Fun and Only" needs to go.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

The new chain-wide slogan is "thrills connect". I personally like the prior "America's Roller Coast" the best. This new one isn't catchy enough. Even though many enthusiasts were not a fan of the "Fun and Only" slogan, I always heard little kids singing the song in the park.

If anybody wants to see the new Cedar Fair commercial for the parks, here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0SrHQOjis8

Re: Cedar Point slogan

This was the first Cedar Fair commercial that didn't look like a "local TV-Spot."

Hey, I like that. It's original, funny, and memorable.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

This just goes to show you how awful the previous ad agencies really were. The difference is night and day.

This ad is 110% awesome. Can't wait to see HalloWeekends ads!

Re: Cedar Point slogan

I don't wanna seem like the only complainer here, but that kind of commercial doesn't seem like a good fit for Cedar Point. It doesn't even give any specs of the park. Not to mention, the only ride they showed was Dominator and that isn't even at Carowinds. It looks like a typical Cedar Fair commercial just like any other year.

They should have 2 types of commercials for Cedar Point. A thrill seeker commercial and a family commercial, like they usually do. For the thrill seeker commercial, It will come on dark, and then you hear a heartbeat. Everytime it beats, it shows a different thrill ride/coaster, then go on talking about the stats of the coasters there, showing REAL footage of the Cedar Point rides.

For the family commercial, I haven't really thought about that one yet lol

Re: Cedar Point slogan

^ What you are not looking at is the only question that matters: "How do we get people to the park?"

For years, the ads of just showing off the park with happy pretty beauty shots and portraying thrill seekers as angry, satan-worshiping teenagers did not work. And thus, the old agency is no longer working for Cedar Fair.

You may not like the commercial, but if it gets butts in the park, it has done its job.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

- Satan worshiping teens??

- Did you watch the video? There is nothing in the commercial that has anything to do with the park, which wouldn't get too many people to the park. Just saying my opinion.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

If they're played in-market, people will know what park it's for.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

^ touche but that isn't what I'm trying to say.

A family of 4 sitting around the kitchen table during breakfast, having a scream conversation that requires you to read the subtitles while showing 1 single shot of a roller coaster that doesn't even belong at the park, really isn't saying too much. If there was 1 good thing I've learned in my marketing class, it would be advertising for the younger crowd. Don't you think first time visitors would like to see an overview of the park instead of a screaming family of 4 at breakfast?

Re: Cedar Point slogan

The ad is designed to remind families how much fun visiting (amusement park) is. It's not aimed at people who have never visited (amusement park). I doubt any of the Cedar Fair parks have to introduce themselves to their market.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

I'm not sure if Cedar Fair's new ad agency is responsible for this, but KI just posted this on twitter:

Funny, but I don't think "Thrills Connect" works so well here... lol

Re: Cedar Point slogan

I don't think that was done by Kings Island but I think they should deffently make that a commercial. I've heard of him before, I can't remember the number but he's ridden Diamondback like more than anyone could imagine.

First time visitors to the park that are within the market of that commercial already know about the park. First time visitors to the park that are not within the market of that commercial are not going to see that commercial. Thankfully we have the internet for first time visitors that don't get to see TV spots for parks from far away.

Re: Cedar Point slogan

The guy in the Kings Island video is a local actor, who may have ridden Diamondback numerous times, but nothing worthy to write home about. I just saw something where he tried to sue another park forum for someone using a picture of him as their avatar!

I'm looking forward more of the Thrills Connect ads. Like some of you, I enjoy the "America's Roller Coast" for Cedar Point. I'd like to see a better slogan for every park.

I heard one of the parks Were sued because people claimed it was making fun of Tourettes syndrome and autism.
