...And, that's a wrap

Best Memory from the 2015 season? Worst memory? Things you liked? Things you despised?....etc.....

Worst experience: today's tweet up.

Literally a line going half way down the midway in just minutes after Tony tweeted his location. Everyone was pushing, shoving, cutting, and just straight up rude. Every 2 seconds someone asking "WHATS THIS LINE FOR??". After waiting about 10 minutes and being about 10 people from Tony, all the prizes were taken. Everyone became distraught saying "Tony said EVERYONE WAS A WAS A WINNER!!"...

Best Experience: today's second tweet up

Tony sent out a second tweet up tweet for those who didn't win (and presumably for those who were tweeting him nasty things). I had to my the trip from frontier town all the way to the giant wheel, but I managed to get there in time. he waited for a half hour to ensure everyone got a prize.

Well didn't see this thread I just popped in and made mine in general, my bad. I'll copy here and try to delete the old one.

First I'd like to thank all the full time staff, seasonals, internationals, and everyone else involved to create an awesome season for guests like us. Your hardwork and dedication to the company cornerstones does in fact give us the best days of the summer. Some memories made this year will be lifelong, and highly cherished. I can't thank each of you enough.

Second, I hope everyone here got a chance to enjoy the season as much as I did. Even being a year with not as frequent of visits (only five weekends all season compared to every other week last year) I missed out on quite a bit, but still got to enjoy every visit to the max. Each year it's been getting better and better. More vibrant midways, great music, smiling happy faces, and damn the food is getting almost perfect.

My visit in August was probably one of the most memorable I've ever had. I was able to bring someone who'd never been to Cedar Point ever was finally brought to the point. Dragging them through the sights and sounds of the park was just awesome to see. I don't get goosebumps and astonished by the drive up the Causeway anymore. But as soon as we cleared the trees and hit the bridge, looking over at Kevin was way too cool. I remember being that way once, it was fin to finally share that with someone else and see it again. It's kinda like Disney magic, but with coasters instead of mouse ears. From every coaster, to free FL+ and Coins (Thanks Tony for a hell of a day) and eating ALL the food and drinking ALOT of beer, it was a hell of a three day weekend. Plus that visit I was able to get this video. Seeing the park from Battery Park is always a treat to me. It's always quiet, peaceful, and gives such a good panorama of the park, especially at night. I'll include two videos here below to share.

My best memory of this year was at Fall Freak Out when the Goodyear Blimp flew over the park. And another great part of this year was meeting alot of good new friends, including some of you here. For me, trips to the park this year became more about the social experience than riding coasters. I became alot more social this year. Now I could go to the park and just meet up with some of my coaster friends, just sit on a bench and ride nothing at all and I wouldn't be disappointed.

More than welcome to tag along with me and my group. Usually we spend Friday evening hitting the favorites and must do's and finish with a bit of good food and usually Thirsty Pony. Then Saturday is an all day riding day with alot of bad food. I really don't want to know my intake if I were to jot it all down haha. Then Sunday is a hit the last minutes, do some shows/entertainment, drink beer, and enjoy a weekend away from work/daily stress. I'm all ears to share that with other people, it's a known success strategy for the my three buddies and me, the more the merrier.

Working at the park this season was such a great experience. So many great friends, opportunities, and life lessons that I am very thankful for. And it was nice meeting a few of you here, Shawn, Brian (Thabto) Eugene (GDUBS) who was another employee, and I'm sure there were more of you I encountered unknowingly. Here's to a good off season, I can't wait to see what the 2016 season holds!

Was it your first year? I only ask because there's nothing like the first year working at the park.

My best memory was...none.
I didn't go this year, and I'm still bummed about it.

I only got to spend one weekend at the park, but hands down, the big story is Breakers. What an incredible transformation.

Standing outside Breakers this weekend we were remembering the stripped-down-to-the-wooden-frame main section during closing weekend last year. It's hard to believe the first season of the new Breakers is already over.

I agree that Breakers was the centerpiece of 2015. Still in awe of the beautiful work done with the resort along the boardwalk with the new Lakeside Pavilion. The corporate leadership is really improving areas of the park to their full potential.

The best memories; well, first and foremost, our daughter Kylah hit 48 inches this year, and during our annual May trip she braved Millennium Force for the first time and fell in love with it. So proud of her climbing on board even though she was anxious and fearful; she braved it and reaped the benefits. On our return trip she even held her hands up after the first hill!

And this October the Face your Fear Project successfully abolished 10 more roller coaster phobias...but more on that soon. :)

No worst memories. Just positive experiences all around.

I have been to the park quite a bit this year, but I've been taking it at a completely different approach. I hadn't been on Top Thrill Dragster all season, I had only done 1 Maverick ride - Generally, I spent a majority of my time at Breakers, or hanging out and enjoying all the other things the park has to offer.

So I got a line-skippy pass, and I used it on Dragster. Let me tell you, it's been over a year since I've been on it. I was actually nervous again. My Apple Watch recorded my heart rate somewhere between 119 and 136 for the brief moments before launch. That was a good feeling. I think I'm going learning to enjoy the quality of rides I get, and the quantity of relaxation.

We ended our season on Rougarou, just like we began it with Media Day - walked off the ride at 8:03 when all the ticket riders were lining up and made our way to the car. Overall, it was a busy, active day, with a decent amount of people.

It's sad to see our weekend hangout going to sleep for the winter, especially when it's over 70 degrees outside today, but such is life - and I'm sure May will be here before we know it.

This! They did a great job with it!

It will be interesting to see if they go through and complete the "little projects" left inside. One being a bigger sliding door main entrance. One person can go through at a time. I would also like to see them add sliding doors, or at least handicap accessible powered doors to the other entrances. Not sure how they got around that. It would make it so much easier carrying bags and pulling wagons etc., in and out.

I've stayed there quite a bit this season and the beating some of the furniture and walls have taken already in the rooms was mind boggling. I hope they go through and touch up/fix those problems before they get out of hand.

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

2015 started as a slow season for me. My youngest, my daughter, didn't want a pass for Christmas. I went a couple times, and by Coastermania, she was regretting her decision.
For her 17th birthday, I got her a pass with the meal plan. We managed 8 trips together, and I went solo a few more.
She again wants a pass for next year, and it's already renewed. I know it will be the last year I will have a "kid" at Cedar Point. My boys are 21 and 19, working, and off to college.
I didn't want this season to end.

My daughter also hit the 48 inch mark this season, we took her 3 days before she turned 6, and she got her first ride in on Millie! It was love at first ride and now she is addicted just like her dad. That made this season more memorable to me than any other before it. Loved everything from Rougarou, Breakers, new Maverick restraints, Coastermania, ect... I could go on.... is it May yet???

Family groups are really hard on hotel rooms, probably because of the kids. I'm sure they will fix whatever damage happened, I'm pretty sure they are committed to running a first class resort and not let things get run down.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

They really did a great job with Breakers!

Next I think they need to do something with Sandcastle. Renovate those rooms a bit. Do something with Breakwater Cafe too. Make it more of a fun spot for people to go after the park.

I've got many but since I'm short on time right now I'll just toss out there that the night they moved ERT from Raptor to Millennium because of wind and we got to ride about 15 times in one hour was really, really awesome. I'm sure we'll never experience that again.
