so who all is planning on going this year?

Ill be attending my first one this year. Finally I don't have to work that weekend.

This will be our second CoasterMania. Last year was our first event and we're making it a point to attend every year after how much fun we had! Great trip report, that gets me pumped to go. I just got my new work schedule, though, and my only day off is the 5th, so my trip may include a fair amount of sleeping in my car beforehand and after the morning/night ERT, but this sounds like a can't miss event.

I'll be there! Just not as a guest :)

I was just wondering why The Western New York coaster club was not on the list for coastermania?

Many of the clubs were dropped this year. I had to join another one.

I feel bad because I have a season pass for CP, even though it's 4 hours away.

I'm hoping the event gets a little smaller with the reduction in eligible groups. It's just gotten huge over the years.

Then again, I remember hearing Kinzel speak and when they had people raise their hands to indicate what club they belonged to, the vast majority were ACE and GOCC, so maybe it won't make that much difference?

This will be the wife and I's first Coastermania trip and we are excited.
We'll be driving in from the Detroit area Thursday (i'm going to put in a half-day at the office and arrive around 2pm). We'll probably check into our hotel (Breakers Express) right when we get to town since there should be no line then and then head to the park for the rest of the day.
It's definitely going to be great to wake up 5mins from the park rather than 2hrs with the check-in time of 6am LOL!

After reading Tony's latest blog, I thought that this looks really familiar, does anyone know what it is from?

My initial thought was it looked like something from Fury 325.

i was racking my brain yesterday and couldn't see what it was, but as i opened your link today i can tell it is one of the guideline signs from the station of Mantis. Didn't click in my brain until i saw it just now.

It's intriguing that the image is called "dark.jpg"

Definitely one of the safety signs for Mantis.
