Going to the park alone?

So what's it like going to the park alone? Kinda have always wanted to try it so I can do whatever I want but feel it might be lonely!

Drink beer and bring ear buds lol.

I enjoy it sometimes. Only bad part is if you have to wait in line. Time moves much slower when you have nobody to talk to.

I do it a lot. It is great. If you want to ride something 5 times in a row, you do it.

Once you get into the station you can usually slip in with a single rider and skip over a few trains.

You are not on anyone's schedule. Always can find some interesting people willing to talk in line.

Just last week I talked to a couple from England. They were on an amusement park trip.

Had been to Dorney, Herseypark, Kennywood, and Cedar Point. Still had to go to Kings Island, Dollywood,

Carowinds, Busch Gardens, and Kings Dominion. I was jealous.

I enjoy solo trips to a park, for the reasons JK125 mentioned. I'll usually pop a paperback in a pocket and read if a line is long, or just people watch and enjoy the atmosphere.

I'm always in the park alone, and kind of enjoy it, I can go at my own pace. I'll also be there alone for CoasterMania.

You can get a special T-shirt made and a small portion of the population will think you're cool.

I go by myself at times to meet up with different coaster friends during the season. On occasion in the past, I've gone by myself to just get away from everyone. It's cool because you can do whatever you want, when you want! The bad side of it for me anyway, is you end up talking to yourself and see couples; wishing it was you with that girl.

I've never been to the park alone. I think I might enjoy it but I would never hear the end of it from the rest of my family. Moms can never escape ;)

This mom has done it and enjoyed it! It kind of feels like dining alone but it started with a ride night nobody in my family wanted to go to and I've done it a couple of times here and there, never a full day. I usually find someone to talk to in line and try not to be too much of a nuisance to them with my yappy mouth. You're not used to it and have never thought of the park in that manner but it's kind of neat once you get up the nerve.

I love going to the park alone. A lot of my family members have season passes, but we are all on different schedules, so usually, I go it alone. MY family pretty much knows where to find me whenever I'm not working or on a nice Sunday afternoon.

I would love to! If I lived close enough, I'd have a season pass, take a day off during the week during the least busy times and just walk around riding whatever I wanted, people watching and enjoying the atmosphere. I'm jealous of those of you that live close enough to do this. I wouldn't get lonely, I'd bring something to listen to on my phone and/or talk with others in line, depending on what I was in the mood for.

Millennium Force at sunset is a beautiful sight.

I echo JK125., I have been to the park the last three years alone. My friends can not get kitchen passes from their better halves. I have never had a bad time by myself. You can meet some incredible people in line.

I've gone alone many times. Ride or eat what you want when you want, or just sit and people watch. If there is no one to talk with in line, then just listen. Boy, do you hear the misinformation! While I enjoy going with family and friends, it is relaxing to go alone.

I go alone a majority of the season since I'm the only one with a pass out of my family and friends. It's a relaxing experience and I absolutely love it. I get to enjoy the park and atmosphere at my pace. I'm always entertained by the misinformation and the people I see.

I wish they had single rider lines at CP like they do at Universal; everything's (nearly) a walk on when you're a single rider there.

95% of my park visits are alone... It's nice because you always get to choose what to do...

Solo trips are a lot easier to do with an MP3 player and a set of earbuds... A few episodes of your favorite podcast or an audiobook makes waiting in line a lot more enjoyable...

Jeff mentioned special t-shirts. I have noticed several individuals, both male and female (apologies to Bruce Jenner) with shirts that indicate "single rider" this or that. On Memorial Day my son and I were on Blue Streak seated behind "single rider somebody". He rode alone, raised his arms the whole ride. His sleeves moved enough for me to see his tattoo showing his years of service in the "Gulf War" or whatever history buffs call it now. It gave us the opportunity to thank him for his service to our country. I know, Memorial Day is for remembering those who have passed on, but he was very kind and gracious to us, engaging with my 9 year old autistic son. I have seen others wearing those type of shirts mingling with park guests. I would be too self conscious to advertise my "single" status.

Won't get a "single rider Bob" shirt as that name/person seems to have a reputation. I may have been run over by him myself.

I really enjoy my time at the park on my own. As much as I love the coasters sometimes I just want to walk the park...something Ride Warrior #1 is not as keen on, but then she is nine so no surprise there.
