According to CP Rundown's Facebook page, Cedar Point is now using Heinz and no longer Red Gold.

Phew. We can all sleep better knowing what ketchup we can expect on our next visit.

Well I know I certainly will sleep better. Red Gold is unheard of unless you have spent time in a penitentiary or other state run institution. A cheap cost cutting alternative to real Ketchup (or catsup). Heinz is as welcome an addition as Coke was. Great to see CF stepping up to first class condiments. Can't wait for the fry deal with real Ketchup!

PS: why doesn't my IE-Spell spell checking utility not work on the new version of the forum? It worked on the old system. It is striking to me how poor a speller I really am.

Hey, if you're from Pittsburgh, there IS no other ketchup ;)

It must be January.

Promoter of fog.

I don't care what kind of ketchup it is- after spending a day in those dispensers, baking in the sun, it's still gonna be hot and fizzy.

I remember a whie ago alot of people here were complaining about Red Gold and now many of you are like "who cares?"

Does this mean I can finally hold my pinky out when dipping my french fry in a puddle of condiment? After all, first class condiments deserve first class manners. ;)

Have you taken a careful survey to confirm anyone in the "who cares" camp are the same people who didn't like the Red Gold?

No, but I think this is a step in the right direction with improving food services. Most food at the park is still crap.

And polishing a turd still makes it a turd. In this case, the proverbial "turd" is CP food and the "polish" is Heinz condiments. :)

But it would be good with CP's legendary fries.

I fail to see how Heinz would be any different than Red Gold. I remember trying the Red Gold ketchup the first year they had them and I honestly couldn't tell the difference.

It could be that I just didn't care. :P

Well, as a dedicated consumer of Heinz ketchup, the only ketchup as far as I am concerned this is very good news indeed and I am quite happy about it. If you can see your fries through the ketchup you aren't using enough.

All US ketchup sucks. The Canadian version of Heinz will change your life.

Red Gold is not an inferior product, it's just a good as Hunt's or Heinz. It's like comparing Coke, Pepsi or RC. They all taste a little different but they are all the same quality.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

This should be a 2015 Cedar Point top 10 story. The real story is that they probably charge like $1.00 for a couple extra packets...or maybe they will keep it in the pumps on the midway.

Even the thought of putting Heinz and Hunts on the same level is blasphemy. Red Gold is tolerable at best, Hunts is just awful. If I were to ever mix our household garbage with tomatoes and toilet water I imagine it would taste similar to Hunts.

I recall for many years my favorite ketchup was the Heinz in the little packs from restaraunts, of course the problem was the time it took to open 50 of them for an order of fries. Not sure if it is true but I had been told those were the Canadian version of Heinz. I think it was labeled Heinz fancy or something along those lines. Not sure if that is true or not but if it is that would most definitely explain why those packs were way better than what is at the local store.

Ketchup is ketchup, nothing special about it. Unless you are talking about Whataburger Spicy Ketchup! Now THAT is some good stuff.

When I told my sister this news, she was VERY excited. She's a picky eater to begin with, and generally has to live off of chicken tenders at the park, and she always complained about how extra-acidic the Red Gold is.
