How bad is Maverick

I might be going to Cedar Point soon, and I want to ride Maverick. I'm only 11, and the most intense ride I've been on at the Point is Blue Streak. My Questions (Plz answer in replies):
1: How bad is the drop?
2: How bad is the launch?
3: How bad is the ejector/floater airtime?
4: How bad is the airtime compared to BS?
5: Is it worth the wait?

Sorry for so many questions, I'm just nervous that when I go my cousins might want me to go on Maverick, Millennium, Dragster, Magnum, etc. Please answer each question in the replies! Thanks!

Whaddaya mean, bad? None of it's bad.
:-)

Of course your cousins will want to ride the big ones, and you should try them too. You'll be 11 1/2 by then. You'll always remember the day you had your first thrilling rides. I know I still do, and I'm really, really old.

Man up and go with em, or get stuck holding the purses.

1: How bad is the drop?
Scary
2: How bad is the launch?
I cried
3: How bad is the ejector/floater airtime?
You feel like flying out
4: How bad is the airtime compared to BS?
Barely anything
5: Is it worth the wait?
Oh yes!!!!

(may have been exaggerated...)

Really it's not that bad. It's definitely one that you can get started on before taking on those others. I suggest doing Millennium Force after, then Dragster, and then Magnum. Magnum, even if it's shorter, provides more of a kick than the others so as long as you got through the first 3, then you can attempt Magnum.

Also, Maverick, Millennium, and Dragster are smooth. Only thing about Maverick is lean with the turns to try to avoid head bouncing. Not sure how tall you are/will be but its something to consider. Other than that it's perfect.

Q1: Thanks
Q2: lol that's funny but I've been pushed down stairs by my sister
Q3: AWESOME!
Q4: That's pretty good, considering I was glued to the LB on BS
Q5: Good.
May have been exaggerated? Okay.
Thx for the advise on Magnum. I'd do WT before TTD, though.
I'm 5'0 (I tried the test seat last year and my ears were at the OTSD restraints) so I might be able to survive!

Lean into the curves is the best advice. I have had by ears "boxed" more than once. Sit towards the front so you can anticipate the curves.

My 9yr old daughter loves it and so will you.

Cedar Point guest since 1974

@45Wheelgun Awesome.

as said above, front seat for knowing what's ahead(except in the dark) and stiffen your body into those twisties to prevent head banging. once you ride it in daylight, you'll know what to expect in the dark.

1: Don't worry about the drop you'll work your way up.
2: The Launch is medium speed.
3: About 1-2 seconds.
4: Its not like Blue Streak the seats are completely different the air time is way less just at beginning and at loops.
5: It is worth the wait being my favorite coaster at Cedar Point the tip ill give you is go on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the summer you'll se a wait of about 45 minutes rather than 1hr and 30 minutes on a Friday or Saturday.

Mee to I love Maverick

Maverick - "The West Was Never This Wild"

Just try it!! You'll never know if you like it if you don't try. Worst that will happen is you won't like it, but you can say that at least you tried.

BUT. You will love it. It's an awesome ride.

^^ Well, there are certain things that I do not need to try to know I won't like them. That would be one of them. hahaha

Maverick is probably the most fun coaster in the park. It's kind of like riding a bronco and it's not that fast but it seems to go fast because of the twists and turns. Take heed and brace yourself until you become familiar so you don't bang your head on the restraints. I followed what others here have told me, push out on the bars as you push your head back against the headrest. I'm still not familiar enough with the ride so I still do it.

My 8 year old says it's his favorite coaster. Now if you can tell me how to get him to ride Millenium Force this year...
