Magnums New Control Booth and Control Panel Help

Does anyone have before/after pics of the control panels? I'm curious to see what different with the new one and why the new one was installed. I'm sure 25 years can't be too bad on the panel, right? Or was it just worn out lol. I've heard they got a new computer to control the operation is this true or was I imagining something? Does this mean they still have to run down to the lift and whatnot like the used to or did only the control panel change?

The old system was dated, and parts needed to replace what they used were nonexistent. Plus it needed to be brought up to todays standard too for what I've heard.

Some stuff was designed in house for some of it's 2014 upgrades. Consign is the company that came in and got everything moving, which is the sole company that creates all of the controls for B&M coasters.

I believe the lift enable is still there, and I think it's a requirement now. Corkscrew used to not have a lift enable, you could start/stop the lift from controls unless it was a pedal and you needed to do a lift reset. Now there is a lift enable on both the op panel in controls and at lift base.

Actually, you're wrong.

Every piece from the old system is still available.

You haven't been around for a few years and probably shouldn't comment on things you don't know anymore.

I was curious Rob, what did they switch to on Magnum? Shoot, I don't even know what it had before, PLC5 or SLC? Or is this not meant for the forums?

And yes, Rob is right the parts were still available if it were either of those systems. And the control panel? A button is a button, no matter what new fangled technology is out there.

I remember somewhere I think Dave said the I/O board was old and past it's time..Regardless again there is the "what I heard"

I'm pretty positive about the Consign part however..
