Need help deciding between season and platinum pass please!

Hi there.. for the past two years my husband has purchased my son and I CP platinum passes. We have used them to visit Wildwater Kingdom, Soak City, and even visited Kings Island, Canada's Wonderland and Kings Dominion. I had thought we would sit out this year and not do passes but my birthday is on its way and the hubby will renew our passes, yay!

I was thinking as a way of saving money, perhaps we can order a platinum for me, and a regular season pass for my son. I'm trying to remember the perks from last year... didn't we receive some complimentary or discounted guest passes for Wildwater Kingdom and Soak City? I'm thinking that this summer we will not visit other parks, and will visit the water parks maybe 3-4 times. I mostly use my platinum for free parking so I would definitely purchase that for me. Can someone provide some insight as to what perks I may be able to share with my son if he just got a season pass instead of the platinum this year?

PS- it looks like the price difference is $69

Thank you!

I would just get both Platinums and be done with it.

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

For saving that $69 he would not be able to go to Soak City, partake in any of the platinum pass ride nights, utilize early entry. You could still use your pass for the free parking, food and merchandise discounts. If you plan on going to Soak City 3 or 4 times the platinum pass will easily pay for itself, throw in the fact that you can use it for early entry and ride nights is a bonus.

I personally would opt for the Platinum but if you are comfortable with not having the ability to go to Soak City whenever you wish for no charge, and aren't interested in the ride nights and early entry then you could easily get away with saving the $69 and getting him a season pass instead.

I find the regular season pass to be a waste, it's kind of pointless. It's only good if you ride up with someone who is a platinum member. The discounts and perks make the platinum more than worth it. The platinum pass is really great value.

I was considering getting just a season pass this year as well, but the rest of my family gets the platinum pass and we usually ride together for early entry. So I'd be sitting in the parking lot waiting, while they are riding rides that no one will want to wait a long time for later. If you use early entry at all, I think it's worth it for that and the freedom of just going to Soak City for a few hours and not feeling like you have to stay all day to get your money's worth out of the price of a Soak City ticket.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply!

I should clarify that we never take advantage of extra hours so that is not an incentive for us.

Can anyone remember if any passes for Soak City came with the platinum pass? I remember receiving a coupon sheet for Wildwater Kingdom and it contained a few free passes for friends. If there is not a coupon, I definitely would go for the Platinum because I wouldn't want to pay full price for Soak City for my son, even if we only went a few times. We have access to a local pool too so I found that we only ended up at Soak City 2x last year.

This summer I asked if there was a discount on the price of Soak City tickets with the Platinum and they said no. i used to be the only one to get the Platinum just for the parking but for next year we decided to go ahead and splurge.
