Off Season Blues

Well..it's already that time, and it's already hit. No coasters unless I make a big trip down south or west for the winter. Ganna miss hearing this sound for the next few months.

Anyone else already bummed out a bit?

The blues haven't quite hit me yet since I only made it to HalloWeekends twice (college marching band consumed my weekends). But I know the excitement for 2015 is gonna be hitting hard sooner or later, as I'm planning on applying to work at the park for the summer. That would be a dream come true :)

I just need to figure out what and when parks open. I know I'll head to Carowinds for Media/Opening Day. I wanna hit KD & BGW while I'm down there. That'll probably be my first trip. After I'll probably come back up for CP & finish with KI

[url][url]It hasn't hit yet this year. Last year it hit hard and fast because I didn't get the last visit in that I had hoped for and our last trip to the park I was sick with the beginng of a flu so it wasn't the most enjoyable visit. Right now the skin on my hands is still toast from me being dumb and not putting my gloves on until the sun went down. Next year I'll know better.

For anyone who missed it and needs closure, the last banner message over the front gate...picture taken around 8:30 pm after we finished chowing down our last funnel cake of the season.

Cedar Point 'withdrawal' hits me as I'm walking to the car on the last operating day because it's closed for the season. Sometimes, but not often enough, when I go to Daytona Beach for Thanksgiving weekend for the car event that's occurring at the track,I'll do Busch Gardens Tampa. I did an article for ACE's Rollercoaster magazine back in 1996/1997 titled 'going into Cedar Point withdrawal'.
There are many videos on the web of CP rollercoasters but since I go so many times,I have my own memories of them. What I'll watch now offseason to see the 'atmosphere' is 'Cedar Point employees lip dub of Carly Ray Jepson Call Me Maybe'

If the blues are already settling in...

I recommend a late November/Early December trip to Dollywood. Not only is the park relatively quiet crowd-wise (most days...the folks are largely there for the shows)...but you get to take in some great rides along with the spectacular Christmas decor.

All that, and it's not too far away, but far away enough to make it a nice road-trip with some friends and/or family.

I may make it there in December, November is a bit booked but I will try to make it that way. This season I may go south to enjoy the parks...

Ok sorry to double post..but one thing to help the blues...New Pink Floyd album is FANTASTIC. Get the Deluxe if you can, worth the extras. I may even upgrade to Vinyl

It's so funny to hear people talk about upgrading to vinyl now when 15 years ago people thought I was a freak for even owning a turntable at all.

I still have many things on Vinyl. I usually try to get classics or things that sound good on Vinyl. Some are just collectibles..Like I have Dark Side of the Moon still factory sealed. Probably worth a small penny now, but I'll keep it for a few more years :)

Blues? I can hear steam train whistles from my house and I can be on a roller coaster in an hour. I know not what you refer to.

I have a platinum pass, the add on is going to cost me 99.00, but if I have the regular season pass, only 81? What if i only want to dine at CP and don't care about dining at other CF parks?

We offer up to date Braindumps exam practice questions with self keiseruniversity.edu engine.

Paisley's avatar

That kind of sucks but I suppose I could argue that my platinum pass shouldn't cost as much because I'll only be able to use it at 3,maybe 4 Cedar Fair parks and I will most likely use it at only 2. I doubt they care. I don't even really care. It's still a good deal for me. I guess you just have to decide if the dining pass is still a good deal for you at 18 dollars more.

This year, I was only able to use my Platinum Pass at Cedar Point, but I did enjoy all the perks that came with it (hotel discount, food, ride nights, early entry), so I think it was worth it anyways.

With a Platinum Pass, you are paying for unlimited admission to any Cedar Fair outdoor ride or water park, any day said park is open to the public. Unlimited amongst all of those parks. No matter how much you use it, you still paid for as many visits as you cared to make. You shouldn't pay less for unlimited than people who use more of their unlimited pass... That's Sprint data plan logic right there. SMH.

^^^ As mentioned in another thread, has the park been contacted to ask if a CP-only dining plan could be added to a 2015 Platinum Pass? Or are we just assuming and getting frustrated? Regardless, if one were to visit one other park one day and use two meals, that's $18 for 2 meals, or $9/meal. That's just about the menu price anyway. Two days away from CP and it's $4.50/meal for the upgrade. The difference has already justified itself at that point.
