Roller Coaster Shows

Are there any new roller coaster shows on TV? There used to be a show about the top 10 coasters in America, but I haven't seen it in a while. I loved seeing 3 of them be from CP.

Does anyone know if there is an updated episode? The last one I saw was from 2003. I always thought it was a great way to bring recognition to the park.

There is a TV series on the travel channel called "Off Limits." It is on Tuesdays at 10:00pm I believe. The series itself is not about roller coasters or amusement parks, but there will be an episode where the host, Don Wildman, goes to Cedar Point and gets a closer look on how the park maintains Millenium Force and gives us a closer look at the retracking on Mean Streak.

This episode has not aired yet, but I'm sure it will in the next few weeks since the series just started its 2nd season about 2 weeks ago.

There is one perhaps two shows that are currently in production for the Discovery Channel. Their air dates are un known at this time.

Yeah, but one of them is about food.

There used to be a show where kids would have to try to answer questions while riding the roller coasts at Knotts Berry Farm but that was cancelled.

I am looking forward to the "Off Limits" CP episode. Shows like that I feel are much more interesting than the old format of "top 10 rides" that just featured a bunch of on-ride footage narrated by some overexcited coaster geek. You can find that kind of stuff all over Youtube, the behind the scenes look at how various aspects of a park work is much more unique.

That's very true. I would love to see a show just about behind the scenes, getting the park ready, etc. I've seen a Disney World behind the scene's type show and it was really interesting, even though I don't care much about the park.

My heart fills with pride when CP is featured on any show : )

I agree behind the scenes things are so cool. I love when they show parts of the park that you are likely never to see. Like the pictures posted on here of the winter tour inside DT. Very cool that you don't see.

I saw one about Disneyland a few years back where they went behind the scenes and they showed the basketball hoop that is in the peak of the Matterhorn. It was so cool! I guess the employees hang out up there. I'm sure every park has those hidden secrets and I find them fascinating.

Did anyone else watch the Off-Limits show last night? I was a little bummed because they only showed about 10 minutes worth of CP stuff. Although, it was a pretty awesome little segment. It made me that much more excited to go CP in 2 weeks : )

I saw the 10 minutes, That's all I was expecting to see though. I enjoyed the climb down the drop side of MF, and the view he gave off the side of MF from the very top.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

I caught it last night. It was pretty cool showing a different view of the operations. They really marketed Mean Streak and gave it more attention than I expected. And the guys that do that work, on any coaster but really on MF, are better men then I. I can't even imagine climbing down that 80 degree drop to hit that button. Thank you to the people that keep those rides running. I truly appreciate it.

I was dissapointed with the Off Limits show, The CP segment was soo short and there wasn't enough inside info or footage and I got excited for nothing!

I agree - I had my whole family sitting down waiting to watch it. We were all surprised at how little they really showed.
