Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 is happening, sorta.

So, everyone here being coaster fans, I thought I should make a post that they are making a RCT4, but it's not the game most RCT fans wanted. It's going to be a mobile game. In case you're interested here's a link to the trailer.

I've got my eyes on Theme Park Studio. It's in early access on Steam right now. I've got a thread here about TPS:

Edit: According to this article, it says there will be a new RCT for PC as well:

That's.......just awful.

I have no hopes for the pc version. I'll just continue working on Nolimits stuff thank you.

From the screenshots, it looks like there will be microtransactions. I hope it's not a web browser or Facebook game on PC. My hopes aren't too high for it. I'll just keep an eye on Theme Park Studio.

It reminds me of something like CityVille on Facebook. Stupid.

Interesting to note, as of about 8:30 on 3-18, the video had about 150 thumbs up, and well over 5,000 thumbs down. Hmm...

As for me, ill stick with Roller Coaster Tycoon 1, 2, and 3. IMO, making a mobile version of this game is probably the worse thing that could happen to this series. It looks like a crappy version of RCT1 with half of the budget. Not to mention, Atari is going to find a way to entice you to make in-app purchases, and some people will spend hundreds vs. the $19.99 you paid for the original games. I do not think i will download this game.

PC as in Facebook! Now with Oculus Rift! ... actually might be good

If you were able to ride your rides like in RCT3, Oculus support would be great. But when Facebook bought it, my interest dropped, but I'll wait and see what Facebook can do with it. They're not a gaming company and have no experience with games. All games on there are third party. I'm interested in Sony's Project Morpheus now. But as it stands right now, I'm not interested in this game. I'm more interested in Theme Park Studio. That looks like what RCT4 should've been.

I used to play Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 years ago when I was home more with little ones. I tried RCT3 a year or so ago and I thought lots of the rides were too goofy and cartoony looking. I liked the night time lights though. I think there weren't many landscaping options in the plant department compared to the original. It didn't hold my attention.
