Snake River Falls future

What does everyone see of the future of this ride? Will it go before Shoot the Rapids or Thunder Canyon go? In my opinion, it's probably my least favorite water ride as you will get drenched. At least on TC and STR you have a chance of coming off damp.

Plus I think STR and TC have a bit more excitement than just one drop.

I know it was just repainted when STR was new, but I think if we see an update in FT, I could see Snake River going soon after MS.

Everytime I go on STR, I come off drenched.

Yeah! I *hate* when water rides get you wet. Some nerve!

Designers really need to address the issue with water rides getting water on people; simply selecting the screamingly obvious path of not getting on a water ride if you dont want to get wet is clearly not an option for some.

Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."

"Nowhere in the name Shoot The Rapids does it mention water! I want a refund!"

I don't see STR going anywhere anytime soon. SRF will go before it if you ask me.

I think Snake River Falls needs to be re-painting soon. The hill is to rusty.

I can see STR going long before SRF does. :)

^ Boo! If Shoot the Rapids leaves, I'm protesting.

There's a difference between wanting to get wet and drenched.

But don't some people want to get drenched and not just wet?

This all brings to mind getting off Thunder Canyon with several friends and meeting up with my mother, who hadn't ridden. Only to hear her say she'd enjoyed watching people get off the ride as she could tell which guys were wearing underwear.....

...thanks, Mom.....

As far as SRF's future goes, I think it is a great ride and 10 times the ride STR will ever be (sorry Shawn). What I would love to see them do is build the mountain and add some theming, I think that would make the ride a lot nicer to look at.

I think it's a good ride for when you are super hot in the park and want to get soaked quickly. Otherwise, we don't ride it much. It doesn't seem like it's in great condition anymore, but I can't imagine CP replacing it with much in that area of the park. I like the version that is at KI a lot with the jump in the middle of the hill and because you can get pretty soaked or not too wet on it depending on where you sit.

I feel like if you want a water ride, go to Soak City. I'm sure once SC gets an update (probably next year, since a lot of other Cedar Fair parks have updated their water parks in the past couple years), we could see either Thunder Canyon, SRF or STR go. My bet would be on SRF and or Thunder Canyon. I just think they need to work out the mechanical problems with STR and it would be fine.

I can't see any of the water rides but maybe shoot the Rapids going on the next 10 years. Mostly because I can't imagine any of them (but shoot the Rapids) costs too much to operate, and Thunder Canyon and SRF still have good ridership. STR will probably be the first water ride to go.

What about all of those pumps running constantly?

You mean the pumps for the rides that open late and close early for the season, open late and close early every day they are open, and are very low tech and low maintenances?

Top Thrill Dragster costs a lot to operate every year too. Wish I could post the winking face on here.
