Staying with 4 cars per train?

I don't know if anyone caught this, or not. On one of the signs in the queue, it's written that there are 60 wheels per train. I'm not sure, now, what it said, ver batum. But, do the math. Lead car @ 2 axles + three trailing cars @ 1 axle each X 12 wheels (6 on each side) each = 60 wheels. Does this mean we won't be seeing 5 cars per train for quite a while? You would think that if the 4 car configuration was temporary, it would say "72 wheels". Am I wrong? Just my speculation.

Unless the extra car shares both wheels with the other cars somehow.

The only thing worse than people who make grammar mistakes are the people who have to point it out every ****ing time.

They do! Just like Millie. Re-read it.^ The sign says "60 wheels"

***One more car would ad twelve more wheels. 4 cars equal 5 sets of 6 wheels on each side. 10(sets of wheels) X 6(wheels per set) = 60. 5 cars would bring the total to 72. Am I wrong? :(***

Dougster - you're right on the math. Five sets of wheeels at 12 wheels per for four cars. Maybe they will repaint the sign when they get the fifth car back on the track. My barber told me one of her other customers is an electrician who has been working out there. He told her that one of the cars had something on it that broke and they had to send for a spare part from Switzerland to fix it.
To be technical, there are actually 62 wheels per train. 60 coaster wheels and 2 really big racing slicks:)
Someone in line told me that they were going to keep the 4 cars per train, but they will end up with 8 trains total. Isn't that interesting? I can't see how they could fit 8 trains in the area that they are working in though, unless they would be lined up along the brake run.

I spoke to a friend in management. They hope to have the 6th train fixed and have all 6 running by next weekend. It was a brief conversation, but I understood that havint all 16 seats per train is a goal for next week as well. The shorter trains, and only running 3 was the only way the park was even able to open the ride this week.

If you look at the computer generated pictures of the train on the Cedar Point website they appear to have 72 wheels.

Then why does the other sign say that each Dragster can carry 16 passengers?

tambo

Twelve, for now. When they get all five cars going, it'll be 16. I don't remember seeing this sign. Oh, wait. Yes I do.

"A Top Fuel Dragster cariies one passenger. Top Thrill Dragster can accomodate up to 16 thrill riders at a time."

Ok, kick me. But, all the math is really irrelevant to the topic, anyway. Just a means to bring it to light. Now, all we know is that we have conflicting signs.

Let's all, just hope they get this monster up to ful capacity, soon! Cross your fingers.

Sorry to get kind of off topic but the sign in MF's station saying something about keeping your restraint from working properly, well there were 2 froms in the sign it said "from from functioning." Just kind of got a kick out of that.:)

It was in the Dragster plaza. I think you were either just standing around talking or you were waiting in the overflow queue, past the grandstands and nearing the entrance. I was around the Speed Freaks area.

It's not possible for the Dragster to run 8 trains...the computer won't allow it as there aren't enough blocks.
