The Pirate Ride building...

I must say I am surprised that a building has sat vacant for so long. Anyone see something happening to it within the next couple years? I'm assuming when the Blue Streak area transformation comes in 2016 that this will become some type of restaurant or shop.

They use it for a kids haunt during Halloweekends.

It's not been sitting vacant, it's been used for non-customer facing purposes.

Yes, I know, but that is only for part of the year.

They use it for behind the scenes stuff all year.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I thought it housed the MF Green train, Iron Dragon's third train and the extra sand/ concrete to slow down Magnum's rate of sinking ;P

In all seriousness, I agree with the OP, it would seem like a great retail area (perhaps for a certain dive coaster going in that area). I don't know about it being a restaurant because of it's proximity to Chickie and Pete's.

Height sticks, cleaning supplies, and control room stools are items of what a portion of Pirate Ride house year long. They also have leadership meetings in there also.

It has not been sitting vacant at all. The majority of the building (say 80% of it) is used as a warehouse for Park Services. All the toilet paper, paper towels, new garbage cans, mops, brooms, etc. used throughout the park are all stored in there. The back half has offices for Park Services while the corner closest to Blue Streak has a room for Ride Operations to store height sticks and other items used for rides. And unless they have moved them, Security has a room where they keep all of the bicycles they use for patrol. Very little of the building is used for Boo Hill during Halloweekends. I think its really only the front overhang of the old building (basically the section of Pirate Ride where you boarded the boats).

I can fully expect to see Boo Hill going away whenever they get around to redoing that midway. There is plenty of space there to put a small store front and/or a few games. For that matter depending on what happens in that area in the next few years the entire building could end up going away (and the warehouse getting moved.)

Those will be cremated when Mean Streak is incinerated.

CP loves irony. :)

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

If they are going to use it for anything it will Defiantly be for a dark ride. It would be nearly Impossible for them to use the GTT area for a dark ride. They have started construction by Calypso I do not think if they are going to build a dark ride it will go in between a midway/entrance area. We will probably see a Dark
Ride at pirate ride in a couple years. I think that the GTT area will be used for a custom RMC.

Why would it be nearly impossible?

I think one will go in that space in addition to a new coaster. That's alot of space, plus I think Cedars will be gone sometime in the next few seasons so that clears even more space.
