What ride absolutley terrifies you?

I don't know what it is, but Windseeker scares the living crap out of me. I actually get terrified on that thing and it is an awesome unexplainable feeling that makes me feel like a little kid again scared to go on a ride. I mean totally truly freak out terrified almost to a panic attack and it happens every time. I really have been desensitized to coaster riding and it feels awesome to have this feeling again approaching a ride. Of course that wont stop me from riding it. :)

I'm more afraid of Skyhawk, Windseeker and Power Tower more than Dragster. It's bad when you're on the side of Skyhawk when you're looking down at the pavement below you. On the other side, it's not so bad.

I'm with you on Windseeker and Skyhawk gets me too.

Witches Wheel, or anything that spins. I can do any roller coaster, but when it comes to spinning rides...Nope. Just Nope.

The Sky Ride.

Yeah, I know, one of the tamest rides in the park. But when we're about half way out and that thing starts to wobble and shake I feel like we're about to be dropped on the pavement below like a pumpkin being tossed of the side of a parking garage.

I am absolutely terrified of the Pipescream. The thing that terrifies me is being seated next to an individual with body odor and sweaty arms that contact me. I am terrified of Giant Wheel when they put a single stranger in the car with us, it is often awkward. I am terrified of gulls flying overhead for obvious reasons.

No ride terrifies me EXCEPT the Dragster launch. My rational brain checks out and fear kicks in. Can't help it.

I have issues on that one too. It's a love hate relationship, especially if my family manages to make me ride it facing backwards. I don't know why that makes it worse.

X2 for Skyride. It's the only ride I can think of without a redundant safety/catch system. That cable snaps, and everybody dies. Super highly unlikely as it may be, it's all I can think about.

Two things:

• Fast body waterslides. (Risk of hitting my head, scraping my back, and/or getting pool water up my nose)
• Front seat of Top Thrill Dragster at night. (Risk of hitting a swarm of insects at 120mph.)

Never ride Thunderbolt at Kennywood as a single rider, in that case. :)

Windseeker because it is unnerving to be that high up out in the open with your feet dangling.

Sky Ride doesn't bother me at all, I enjoy it. I've had many thousands of ski lift rides in my lifetime, so I have a totally comfortable feeling on Sky Ride.

TTD's Launch.. Something about it. Maybe the suspense in the begining!

I can do everything else though.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who finds Windseeker unnerving.

I took a buddy who has never been to an amusement park to CP last year, he did great on all of the coasters, and as we were getting ready to leave for the night, he pointed at Windseeker and said 'Let's do that, it doesn't look so bad!'. ... We rode it, he held on white-knuckled the whole time... when we got done he looked at me with a very pale face and said 'Well, I never have to do THAT again!' lol.

I also find the drop side of Power Tower to be unsettling... I think it's the slow ride to the top and the anticipation.

For me, it's the shot side of Power Tower. My dumb brain disregards the fact that I am safe in a seat that is closed and locked and believes that I am going to go shooting off the top of the structure and fall to my death. Then, in the brief moment that I am weightless, my dumb brain takes a left turn and begins thinking about how easily the air cushion below could fail causing me to splatter on the ground.

But then, that's what makes it one of my favorite rides. If I wasn't scared s---less it wouldn't be as fun.

What I find interesting is the difference between 1) a person who is terrified by a ride and allows that terror/anxiety to prevent them from riding, and 2) a person who is terrified by a ride and still rides; and in fact often describes the fear as a source of fun (as you described Willijs3).

The odd thing about amusement park rides is that a majority of them are actually designed to evoke fear and the illusion of danger.

I'm not sure Sky Ride fits into that category, but our minds can play fun tricks on us.

My nemesis as a younger version of myself was Magnum. I was 12 when it debuted at Cedar Point, and I was 17 years old before I ever rode it for the first time. I played every trick in the book to get out of riding her for those five years.

I'm with most everyone's comments here. I'm more nervous about things than I ever was when I was a kid, a trust issue.

Skyride with its cable. Funny about sitting backward makes it worse for me, too.

Ferris Wheel: same issue, dangling in the wind

Windseeker: again, dangling in the air that high. Worried about getting stuck up there and having to use the bathroom. I've ridden it once, found the wind, and was ready to come back down immediately.

Dragster's Launch: I know I'm going to have a time getting in the groove again. The ride's height intimidated me for years and didn't ride until I finally got up my nerve end of our first season with our passes. The height didn't bother me at all but the launch is still unnerving unless I'm riding it consecutively. My oldest sometimes counts down for me which helps!

Sometimes the hill climb on MF, I feel better when we're facing down. You could say most hill climbs make me nervous until we crest and are going down.

I have never ridden Witches Wheel, just afraid of getting sick.

Demon drop used to scare me, I think it's scarier than Power Tower, the weightless drop. You could say Power Tower's Power Down side scares me more than the Power Up, the anticipation again.

Mean Streak, climbing the wobbly track on the first hill makes me afraid it's less than reliable.

I love Skyhawk!

Maxair! Holy crap that ride scares me. However this never prevents me from riding it because it's also such a great ride.

Also I've never ridden it but Slingshot terrifies me! That is probably the only one where my fear has actually prevented me from riding. Well that and the extra money you have to pay for it.

As addicted as I am to the coasters now as a preteen I was scared to death of them. It took quite some time to get over but once I did I just couldn't get enough. I had a full blown anxiety attack on TTD first timeI rode it. The only thing that stopped me from crying was not wanting my kids to see it. It gets easier every time though. Because of how bad my coaster anxiety was when I was young I made a point of getting both my kids on coasters before they had a chance to realise there was anything scary about them.

I am scared to death of the Antique Cars... I'm afraid that the track will break and somehow I'll forget how to drive...

Second place was Sir Rub-a-Dub's Tubs... Thank god that thing is gone... It was the source of nightmares!
