Boardwalk rumor called into question

An inside source from the park would not confirm plans for the boardwalk project, but revealed to us that the Aquatic Stadium, formerly known as Oceana, will be razed after the 2000 season. The project, which may be developed in two phases, is said to include retail, food and "carnival" rides in the space along the beach from Disaster Transport to the stadium. There are also rumors that the project may include a wood coaster. The inclusion of a "Jersey-style" theme is unclear.
