Cedar Fair, Erie County team up for sports complex deal

Amusement park company and county team up for new outdoor sports facility.

Erie County commissioners and Cedar Fair executives on Monday inked an operating agreement to financially support a proposed $23.5 million youth sports complex on Cleveland Road at the former Griffing Sandusky Airport site.

The contract signing serves as a necessary formality to push the project forward. It’s expected the complex could debut as soon as fall 2016.
