Cedar Fair says organization changes due to company growth

Wednesday, 16 February 2005

The promotion of Jack Falfas to Cedar Fair, L.P. COO will allow CEO Dick Kinzel to spread the responsibilities of the growing company, Cedar Fair Corporate Treasurer Brian Witherow told the Sandusky Register.

The creation of the COO position will allow Kinzel to focus on the future growth of the partnership as well as capital projects.  Falfas will oversee day-to-day operations of the partnership, Witherow told the Register.

The change does not mean that Falfas will become Cedar Fair's next CEO.  The Partnership's board of directors will hire the next CEO with Kinzel's recommendation.

Witherow also said Cedar Point's new general manager would be named before the start of the 2005 season.  Current general manager, Dan Keller, will retire next month.  Keller, 55, started at Cedar Point in 1971 as a seasonal employee.
