Cedar Point to light up the sky with fireworks on the Fourth of July

SANDUSKY, Ohio, June 23, 2005 – Cedar Point amusement park/resort will paint the night sky with light on Monday, July 4 with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at approximately 10 p.m.  (In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be postponed until Tuesday, July 5.) 

The program will be presented by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale of New Castle, Pa.  Zambelli Fireworks Internationale is the oldest and largest American firm in both manufacturing and displaying fireworks with a history that spans 100 years and three generations of the Zambelli family.  (Zambelli Fireworks Internationale also produced Cedar Point’s Opening Day fireworks on May 7.)

Zambelli Fireworks Internationale has produced amazing fireworks displays for major sporting events, political conventions and special events such as the 100th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty Anniversary in New York City and the Kentucky Derby Festival’s opening ceremony, “Thunder Over Louisville,” the largest annual fireworks display in the world.

Following the fireworks will be “Snoopy’s Summer Spectacular,” a nighttime extravaganza of light and sound that incorporates laser lights, pyrotechnics, music and images.  The fast-paced program is presented on a giant screen near the Wildcat and Iron Dragon roller coasters.  “Snoopy’s Summer Spectacular” will be shown at 11 p.m. on Monday, July 4 and will be shown nightly at 10 p.m. through Aug. 21 (weather permitting).
