Cedar Point Press Release

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Oct. 9, 2003 - Abracadabra! Guests visiting Cedar Point during HalloWeekends are treated to more than just the typical fun and fright associated with the "Best Amusement Park in the World." Guests can also enjoy two amazing magic shows featuring world-class magicians Aaron Radatz and Chris Linn.

Aaron Radatz
Located in the historic Centennial Theatre, near the front of the park, master magician and illusionist Aaron Radatz and his bag of magic tricks are back for an unprecedented sixth season. Radatz is an internationally known magician whose show incorporates a variety of visual effects, mystery, comedy and audience participation that leaves guests with a sense of awe and disbelief.

Radatz is no rookie when it comes to magic. He began performing at the age of 6 when his grandmother's gift of a magic set quickly turned into a hobby. By the age of 18, Radatz had performed for major corporations and by the age of 20 had earned the title of being the youngest magician to ever headline a casino production. Radatz has studied under such legends as Harry Blackstone, Jr., David Copperfield and Lance Burton. In addition to performing for guests at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends, Radatz has performed for the U.S. troops in North America, Europe and the Middle East - earning several international awards along the way. Within the last year alone, he has toured more than 20 states and 14 countries.

"My magic strives to tell a story," proclaims Radatz. "It creates mystery, comedy and most importantly, it gives the audience a sense of wonder and awe."

The 30-minute show features a trick that guests can perform themselves and an ending that has Radatz hanging upside down, in a straight jacket, over the audience. Talk about a stunt that you have to see to believe!

Chris Linn
Chris Linn is back to wow and amaze guests both young and old alike in his new show "Chris Linn's Magicomedy," located in Frontiertown's Palace Theatre. Call him a funny magician or an amazing comedian, either way you will leave the show laughing and wondering, "how did he do that?"

Linn also began practicing magic at an early age. By age 13 he was performing in paid shows and before he graduated high school, Linn was one of only 10 teenage magicians from around the world selected to perform in the World Magic Summit in Las Vegas, Nev. Since then he has appeared in more than a dozen television programs and performs more than 300 live shows every year.

"We are fortunate to have two wonderful magicians at the park for HalloWeekends," states Marje Rody, vice president of live entertainment for Cedar Point. "The magic, comedy and showmanship of these two talented entertainers are unparalleled. These shows are a definite 'must see!'"

Additional live entertainment options for HalloWeekends include: "The Witches of Witch Hollow" in PEANUTS Playground; "A Tale of Terror" in the Glassblower's Arena; "Monsters Rock LIVE" in the Red Garter Saloon; Gypsy Fortune Tellers, near the entrance to the Blue Streak roller coaster; the King Dapper Combo (every Friday night at 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.); Midway Monsters; and much more.

Those who prefer their HalloWeekends a little scarier can test their nerves by venturing into the new Werewolf Canyon. Located along a portion of the Frontier Trail, Werewolf Canyon is loaded with eerie sounds, a thick fog, the glowing eyes of the world's first known werewolf and promises to be the most horrifying attraction at this year's event. But the scare doesn't end there. Upon exiting Werewolf Canyon, guests find themselves in the Fright Zone! Yikes! (Caution: Due to the intensity of the scares in Werewolf Canyon, guests must be at least 54 inches tall to enter.)

Other HalloWeekends favorites include: three haunted houses; the Fright Zone; special areas for kids, including Camp Spooky and the Magical House on Boo Hill; and three haunted suites in the Hotel Breakers.

Guests can check out HalloWeekends at Cedar Point on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26. The park will be open Friday nights from 6 to 11 p.m.; Saturdays from noon to midnight; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
