SANDUSKY, Ohio, March 30, 2005 – Cedar Point amusement park/resort, voted the "Best Amusement Park in the World" for a record seven consecutive years, is set to celebrate Opening Day with an amazing fireworks display on Saturday, May 7, at approximately 10 p.m.  (In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be postponed until Saturday, May 14.)

The special fireworks display will help the amusement park/resort kick off its 136th season.  Highlighting the 2005 season at Cedar Point will be maXair and "Snoopy's Summer Vacation."  Swinging guests up to 140 feet above the midway, maXair will be the park's 68th ride – a world record!  A brand new ice-skating show, "Snoopy's Summer Vacation,' will be presented in the Good Time Theatre.

Also this summer, Cedar Point will commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the Hotel Breakers.  Located along the mile-long Cedar Point Beach, the magnificent 650-room Hotel Breakers first opened its doors to guests in the summer of 1905.  The Hotel Breakers will be celebrating this historic milestone throughout the summer.  Opening Weekend packages and an Opening Day Fireworks special are available.
