Mystery Construction

New additions coming to Cedar Point in 2010? It's to late to add a major attraction before Cedar Point opens for 2009. But land clearing has been spotted on the side of (MF Island) facing Snake River Falls.

You can also see they have cleared out the Boneyard that use to be behind the sets of Paddle Wheel Excursion.

As seen here http://www.flickr.com/photos/8308074@N04/3...57615194672039/

Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced a new roller coaster is coming to there park in 2010 bringing there coaster count to 17 (if they don't remove one in the process)

So will Cedar Point get a coaster in 2010 to remain hold of the "Most Coasters in the same park" title. We will have to wait and see.

i predict 540... considering the past... 205...310...420...540 ;)

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

Ok, well if the thread stays opens:

It is telling that some trees were not removed and there does seem to be a clear "path". What that path is for, who knows? Based on what I'm seeing I don't think it is an obvious location for a new midway/shortcut.

It would appear to at least have an impact on the Paddle Wheel. But, that ride has been seriously compromised over the years anyway. Turning past the Hatfields and McCoys only to float on by Mantis, ID and later TTD is borderline goofy.

in b4 500 foot looping wooden inverted 4-d coaster

Let the traffic begin!

I doubt it will be a 500ft with that much space cleared. Yest that's a big area, but I doubt it will be a coaster that size. Maybe its land clearing for a new Floorless.

World's largest outhouse bathroom on a man made island sitting below a gigacoaster in an amusement park. Coming in 2010!

Well if this is a coaster or a water ride I can see CCMR getting taken out or SRF getting taken out. If SRF goes it will most likly be a water ride, if it's a coaster CCMR will be going. You could fit a decent coaster in there if you tore down CCMR and brought it into MF Island.

They could use it for the holloweekends thing. (I believe Pirate Island but the name slips my mind.) Just something actually logical unlike the 500 ft jokes.

Something for Halloweekends....

I can't believe people still think they are competing with SFMM. TopGun1993, I think I have seen you on other boards and you should know better. CP doesn't care what they do in California.

It's a little early for speculation, but the whole "most coasters" thing
is pretty old, lame, and ridiculous. The coaster boom of the 1990s ended a
long time ago and nobody cares anymore.

They ran out of wood for the retracking of Mean Streak so the cut down the trees on Mf island.

^lol. I'd love to see a new log flume go in. Or of course a new coaster. But I don't see that happening.

Good one cbrendan502! LOL. On the topic, who knows at this point, but I highly doubt CP is taking that many trees out for a small ride, island restaurant or a Halloweekends attraction (I say with sarcasm). Looking at the area(s) as a whole, it's a large chunk of land. Footer watch 2009 is on.

I have one,oh wait,two footers. hehehehe

I highly doubt it is a 500 footer, I beleve the outhouse thing, cheaper cleaning no running water, very economical. B&M will not build a 500 footer w/ in he next 50 years.

My predicition is a GCI woodie, Six Flags have they are very cheap and they look sweet as hell. I saw drawings of Terminator at Magic Mountain and I wish it was a little closer so I could ride it.

10 Wildcat TL
09 Monster/ Witches Wheel - TL
08 Mean Streak
07 Monster/ Witches Wheel

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!

I don't think most of us will live long enough to see a 500ft coaster, if there were to be one it would be in Dubai not in the US.

That is a pretty tight spot for a coaster, as is about the only CP coaster that would fit there is WT or Wildcat. If a coaster is going in there, it definitely would have to over lap into the water or around MF.
