Anyone ever heard of this "themesong"?? I was on hold with the reservations hotline today and heard this 2 to 3 min theme song!! Pretty nice and professionally done, complete with complete lyrics and verses. Girl I talked to said it was fairly new (within the last few yearsa), and I never remember hearing it. 1st time I heard it and hoping now to find it somewhere online..hmmm...maybe napster :)

If anyone has info on this let me know...Just thought you all would be interested!!

It's the theme song on the Cedar Point video that you can buy throughout the park.

Do I smell it soon to be posted here??? :)

New?????
I love how things that get "dusted off" and brought back into circulation are considered new.
The song you heard and mentioned was the commerical jingle back in the late 80's and may have been used in 90/91.
DBCahill is right also as it is used on the CP videos which show the park. I have a version of that tape from 1990. Fun to watch the "old" shots.
Also I have a cassette tape which has a couple of versions of the song on it. One has the words, I know one is instrumental only.
Catchy little jingle which is played annually at my house on Opening Day.

hmm...I wonder just how much dust came off that tape Old Timer Tim...are you sure it is a tape and not an 8-track? ;-)
I have a two-minute version on video tape around here someplace. I just took the promo video they did (1992 or so) and hooked the opening and closing together at the point where they obviously cut it apart in the first place.

Listening more closely to the promo video, you can hear variations on the theme all the way through, including, when they talk about carousels, a version that sounds like it's being played on a band organ. Very nicely done, actually...

Wow I haven't heard that in a long time. I believe I have the video with that song on it. Brings back memories of Avalache Run. Man I'm getting old. *** This post was edited by sky kicker on 1/18/2001. ***
My son's girlfriend may be joining us on our 2001 trip to CP, so we showed her the 1990 "Get To The Point" tape, and that song's as catchy now as when it was introduced. It would probably be just as catchy on an updated version of the tape---which is badly needed!

The tape is still fun to watch, but I have to tell people about 25% of what they see (such as Jungle Larry's, the beach band, aquarium/dolphin show, one carousel, one flume ride, right-up-to-The-Magnum camping areas, that obnoxious DT robot, and female entertainers with 1980s hairdos) isn't there anymore. Of course, there's a lot they won't see that has been opened in the past decade.

Still, as a tribute to how great CP has always been, even an 11-year-old video still excites friends and relatives thinking about taking a first trip to the Point. Just think what excitement a 21st-century production would create!
I hope someone can post the song soon. I have never heard and I am looking forward to doing so. So if someone has it, please post it. Thanks!

Is it the "Cedar Point OOOO yeah, get to the point get to the point" song? I remember that song they played it on the Calypso.

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point.
The song was also used for several years in the Recruiting video.. At least as early as 1990 ( the year I started).. probably well before that. Any employee who says that it is relatively new must be relatively new themselves. I used to hear it in my sleep during the recruiting season

Can we bring this song back to life?

It would be great to hear this song at the park entrances in 2019!

You mean like you brought this 18-year old thread back to life?

I don't know where I was when this thread first popped up but it reminds me that I was the narrator of the recruitment video back in the mid-late 90s and that theme song was played throughout. The video ended with something like, "Looking for a great summer job? Get to the Point...Cedar Point!" and then the song wrapped it up. I still have that VHS tape around the house but wouldn't have anything to even play it on.

I'm not sure how or why I got picked to record the narration but I'm pretty sure Dan Feicht was the one who actually worked with me to produce it.
