Fast Lane

For those of you in the park today, how is the fast lane system working? How long are they waiting compared to the regular lines?

I'm at the park right now. From what I've seen, the ride ops are keeping the blend of normal waiters and fast pass users at 50/50. Millennium Force had a 1.5 hour wait at its sign. It just took me 3 hours to get through the line. Not very happy at the moment. Hoping this gets addressed or it will be a long year for season pass holders who don't plan on buying a fast pass every visit.

Dragster has the worst setup. With the whole front station for fast lane only.

It took you 3 hours? I know the park is busy today but that sounds like a bit much, especially considering everything else I have been reading about wait times today. A few people that actually have a Fast Lane today have said they have not run into many people using FL. When they rode Millennium Force they were the only FL users in the station. So if wait times are high, then I would bet its due to the new crews and not a huge flux of FL users.

So, from what you all have observed how long do you think the wait is for fast lane users for MF and TTD? Less than 10 minutes?

If there was a wait that long, I would attribute it to downtime vs fast lane. Many rides have had some downtime today.

I also had an extra 10 minute wait for power tower this morning, when I should have been next on the ride. But all these FL users got first dibs. kinda frustrating.

99er, There was about 20 minutes of down time during my wait. So, I guess it was an extra hour wait. Still kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

And with that I officially hate Fast Lane. I saw that coming awhile back (yes I didn't mention it, but its how that line goes through...)

If it remains like that the rest of the season, I'm for sure not renewing my platinum pass for the next year. Makes it worthless to me.

The fast lanes go right to the stations? I thought they were using the old "Free way" queues. Or are they all different?

Promoter of fog.

Are you saying that without being a fast lane pass holder, you can't get on the first train in the station for TTD?

Meaning, you can't get on the first train of the day without a Fast Lane pass?

Meaning, at least for HW, you have a much lower rollback probability.

This makes me more than a little upset, and I like the idea of Fast lane overall.

I'm just trying to get an idea about what he meant for the "whole front station". Are you saying that front seat rides are only for Fast Laners (if they are there)?

And I'm not complaining, I'm just starting to think this thing is way under-priced.

So pretty much waiting for Dragster to open has become whoever pays first, instead of waiting the longest.

I know they are out to get money, but at least make it less obvious that you're milking the cow until only bones are left....

I can attest that they're using a 50/50 fast lane/normie split, at least for now. I actually talked to the workers at Power Tower, Gemini, and TTD, and they all said the same thing, about 50/50.

The worker at Power Tower said the plan is to use one shot tower and one drop tower for Fast Lane and the other two for the normies.

TTD's is painfully obvious, the front train is Fast Lane, back for the normies.

Fast Lane's queue did empty for Power Tower, but God no, it was no where near empty for TTD, and don't plan on that during busy days.

Assuming they continue the 50/50 split, on the rides that don't empty the fast lane (the good rides), the waits will be twice as long for the normies as they were last year.

At $50, I'm going to start picking them up, I only hit 6 coasters today without it, just too slow now. I'd highly recommend picking them up if you can spare the cash.

Isn't that the way its been? Unless you spent the money on a Platinum Pass you have to wait out at the front of the park with everyone else. I don't see the difference.

Spend money on a Platinum Pass, which helps SAVE money long term, and wait during the Extra Hour they get to ride the front of Dragster. After that doesn't benefit any line access during Operations.

VS

Spend money on Ticket, and then 50 dollars on Fast Lane, which helps SPEND more money, and wait 1 minute when entering the park and gets the first ride on Dragster. Will Also Be usable for the rest of the day to skip other lines!

I see a big difference there.

Yeah but someone that can't buy a Platinum Pass has no chance at getting the first train at all like you could before Platinum Passes. So I guess those who are Platinum Pass holders now who are mad are going through the same thing that single day ticket holders went through when they added early entry to PP.

I guess I don't see a big deal since I don't understand what the fascination is with getting a ride on the first train.

I'm more concerned with double the wait on rides.....is it always this busy on opening day? I'm coming out next weekend....hope its not as busy.

I'll withhold judgment on this until I see it for myself, and I'm sure that Cedar Point will be tweaking the system as the season progresses. But no matter how you dress it up, Fast Lane is nothing more than line cutting. On a potentially large scale. To the point that long wait times are made noticeably longer for the majority of CP's guests. I don't see how that increases overall customer satisfaction. But perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions. Time will tell if this is a good idea.

Attention Cedar Point! Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force need to be LIMITED for Fastlane guests, just as Magic Mountain handles X2. Otherwise, you are going to have people buying Fastlane and riding your 2 most popular attractions over-and-over, doubling/tripling the wait in the stand-by line resulting in nothing but a swamped Guest Services of complaints.

Save yourselves a ton of headaches now, research how the X2 Fast Pass program works and implement it ASAP.
