Cedar Point guest since 1974

This thread is ridiculous. I keep checking it when there's a new post, hoping to learn something useful about the timing of Skyhawk's return to action. Instead, I have to read all ^ this crap.

I'm being oversensitive and sarcastic, but would really like to hear a meaningful update if anyone knows anything. I miss the ride!

+1 for Mav.

Maverick, the only thing your likely to learn here is what day the ride opens.

According to the Facebook page cp rundown, one cable has been replaced, and soon installing the second. I, for one, hopes Sky Hawk comes back to life soon.

You're welcome to stop reading it then. Get over yourself.

Skyhawk was testing today! (Or should I say yesterday since it's past midnight.) https://twitter.com/JosephPudlick/status/345710409707294723/photo/1 Anyway, I'll be at the park all day so I'll see first hand what it's status is. Hopefully it'll be opened...

Jeff, that's awfully hypocritical coming from you, but anyway, you failed to quote the part where I said I was being sarcastic. I had added that because I thought the implied sarcasm was perhaps too subtle to pick up.

Fabulous news Skyhawk is testing. My question is, why did it take so long to correct a disruption in a parts supply? My problem is that it again shows a lack of customers relations for the park. The real issue is the parks lack of urgency to have the ride running. Stuff happens, everyone understands that. It is the parks responsibility to ensure the customers don't suffer from internal politics or procedures. A disruption in parts supply can mean about a million different things. If I were a betting man I would wager the ranch that the park thought the replacement part was too expensive and either shopped around or haggled over the price. Could have been the part was discontinued but that is unlikely and other manufacturers could easily make the part to specifications. In the meantime Skyhawk fans suffered.

Say all you want about the park having so many options to choose from and only paying for the right to enter park property; park management failed miserably to provide a promised service to paying guest by not having Skyhawk available to ride. It's not a paying customers fault the park can't get its act together well enough to ensure rides are ready to operate when it had six months to correct the issues. The park should compensate customers by providing coupons for other attractions or even reducing its admission price if it knows it can't provide the service it advertises.

One day admission is $54.99. There are 72 rides at Cedar Point. If one ride is down, your price reduction would be around 76 cents!

"Promised service" Really? I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that you would indeed lose the ranch on this one Guru.

Yes, it's unfortunate that the ride has been down, but as you said yourself, things happen. If one ride in the entire park not running is going to ruin your day, perhaps it's time for a new hobby.

As it's been mentioned here many times yet constantly seems to go over your head, the park promises nothing aside from admission through the gates. This whole coupon BS is really getting old.

Cedar Point fans since when Blue Streak was still the " big one".

...and if that part broke one day before park opening? That's not 6 months to correct the issue. You're making some wild assumptions.

I would be thrilled if they gave a $.76 discount per ticket. That is the entire point. Customers don't ask for much, just a value for the money they spend.

If the part broke 1 day before the park opened then shame on the park for not doing preventative maintenance and using the 6 months to make sure the park is ready to operate. If the park advertises an attraction then the guest is promised the attraction.
