We are going at 10:00 also. My wife and I make a weekend out of it and stay at the Thirsty Pony. They have enough to do there to keep us busy.
Can't wait for the tour!

Tis the weekend of my little boys birthday, not sure if this will rate as his choice of activites for that. We shall see.

So they have a presentation, decent looking lunch, and the walking tour. To which I'm curious: Where is lunch? Aside from a maintence building, where else do you get to go, see, that is indoors/behind the scenes?

Last year we saw the maintenance building and then took a walking tour through the Gemini midway to see the construction and then looped around back to the marina entrance via the Frontier Trail. I imagine they will show us some different things this year, with the Breakers and Rougarou contruction going on.

The lunch spread was excellent and they had some nice door prizes including front of the line passes, cedar point ski hats and gloves.

I highly recommend it. It was a very nice day and you are also helping a great charity.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

One of the unusual things we did get to see 2 years ago was the inside of Disaster Transport. It was lit up, and we were taken throught he building on the 'ground level' with the bobsled track above us, it was a view that most never got to see.

We were able to see the Gatekeeper cars when they arrived....the were sitting on pallets in a storage area, but everyone got a close up first view sneak peak.

Every year its been a different area of the park, last year with the Gemini midway renovations, we did tour that area. The CP folks have always went above and beyond, -through renovations, mud, cold, snow, wind...everybody keeps a smile on their face and everyone has a great time! Just be sure to dress weather appropriate.

Feb 21...let the countdown begin :)

If I had to take a wild guess, I bet they will give us a tour around Rougarou, Hotel Breakers, and maybe where Goodtime is getting demolished.

Got my group of 3 in for 10:45. Can't wait!

This may seen like a wierd question, but does anyone know if the food last year, or know if the food this year is gluten free? My mom is coming, and she has Celiac's.

For this year's menu, it would be best to contact the park. Past experiences are not a guarantee for future menus, thus one should not make expectations based upon them.

I just noticed the sessions I was interested in attending are now sold out. :( Any way to be put on a wait list if there are any cancellations? I was waiting on a check to come before I got my ticket. However, they are still listed for purchase on the website, I'm guessing if I tried to get a ticket, it would give me an error. I tweeted to Tony to see if I could be put on a waitlist.

Any particular reason why 8:30am or 9:15am doesn't work? It's all the same, except you have to get up an hour or two earlier.

Right, and who wants to do that?

Got my tickets for 10:45 AM early on day 1 :)

Because I would need to get up about 5:30AM to get there. It's not that I'm lazy, I just have difficulty getting up that early and I'm not a morning person. I would've gotten my ticket sooner, but I was short on funds.

I caved, I'm going at 9:15. What's a little less sleep when I get an exclusive look at the park and help some kids go to amusement parks?

We will have a special rate at Castaway Bay for attendees if you're concerned about driving early in the morning. The rate has not yet been finalized, but something to think about.

I'll Tweet it when I have confirmation!

And Tony goes from 0 to 3 in the scoring game in half an hour. WINNING.

Hoping the special Castaway Bay rate will include use of the waterpark this year. Last year my husband checked us in and I looked in the folder and I asked where the waterpark wristbands were. We stay there a lot in the winter and never once ever had a special that didn't include waterpark use. He went to the desk and they said the special rate for Chill Out attendees was for a room only and we ended up forking out around $75.00 more to use the waterpark. He asked if we would've gotten a better deal with using our season pass rate and they honestly answered yes. Lesson learned -make sure to carefully read all the details.

And he did it without posting in the Dive Coaster thread. :)

Personally, if not including the Castaway Bay water park in the Winter Chill Out rate makes for a less expensive room than I think that is the way to go. I would probably arrive fairly late Friday and then spend Sat. on the tour, the water park wouldn't be part of the plan. So, I'll probably get a room if the rate is low. Hoping the water park is NOT part of the deal.

It wouldn't be necessary for me to stay overnight. But it's nice that they are offering a special rate, especially for those who live further away. I noticed I'm in your group, Pete.
