Here is Cedar Fair's trademark database.

Note how Centurion is marked as LIVE as in they are allowed to use the trademark.

And you can't make an argument that Cedar Point makes all of its own trademarks, as Maverick is owned by Cedar Fair, not Cedar Point.

The TM was suspended not "dead", which means the can still take care of any remaining issues when it comes to the TM. They could do what they had done with GK and try to activate this on the day of announcement. Again, wishful thinking on my part I think.

Then again, I can see why they would buy up all of these TM. They are offering some for 159.00.

If it's a dark ride/dive coaster combo no child under 48" will be able to ride the new dark ride.

I have stated before and will repeat, I would like to see this ride extend and have a turnaround out over the Triangular marina overflow lot. Thus giving the cue at Millennium a great view of the ride as well as giving the riders a chance to get close to the waters edge on that shoreline.

Perhaps this is even hinted at in the picture that was posted of the lightning over the water.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but there are explosives stored in that lot. The fenced in area with the shipping container inside of it.

May not be the best place for a coaster fly by.

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

Don't think it'd be all that hard to move the shipping container but that's be a big footprint for a dive machine

Pretty sure that shipping container is as safely located as possible near water and away from general public and accessibility, while keeping it as close as possible for its intended purpose.

^ if I am not mistaken, didn't we know the name Gatekeeper before the announcement date?

Yes, the name was thrown around for about two weeks leading up to the announcement. Then CP leaked it on their website the night before. As far as the current speculation, I really dont care what the name is, as long as it brings thrills. However, the Roman numerals make me wonder about Centurion and whether CP is trying to fool us like Carowinds did with Fury 325 or if maybe, and I know its far fetched, but just maybe Valravn will be the new dark ride and Centurion will be the dive coaster. New for CP 2016 a historical addition of two rides in 1 year! 😂😂😂

all dates, containers, I seen track here stuffs aside... has any one seen the "cedar point VR" app? is this legit?

When you google it's the first link that comes up

But it seems it has been pulled from the play store.

Soo another crazy idea I'll throw out there just to have the most far fetched but still possible theory. They announce Whyte Lightning the big brother to Blue Streak (Two colored lightning bolts) a massive new Woodie to rival the best out there. They also announce the much discussed demolition of Mean Streak. Hidden back in the back of the park it'll be the ideal location for a dark ride in the coming years... Centurion/Valravn will be a new kiddie coaster flat ride duo that will use the remaining land from this year's demolition.

You guys...it is so obvious. Mr. Ouimet said every park was getting a dark ride. Pumpkin Patch? Peanuts? Dark Ride? Sounds like a "the great pumpkin" themed dark ride to me.

New for 2018... RMC Iron Horse!!!

Here's my thoughts on Valravn/Centurion/Whyte Lightning

I see Centurion being more closely related to the Brown/blue dive coaster if that is indeed the new coaster for 2016. I cannot possibly see a dark creature (a valravn) being brown and blue. Also the roman numerals kind of point toward something along the lines of Centurion, and not so much Valravn. Then again I don't really think of dark skies for a Centurion, but more for something along the lines of a Valravn.

I guess my thoughts are that Centurion will be the new brown/blue dive coaster for 2016, Valravn will be a haunt, flat ride, or a dark ride in the future, and as for Whyte Lightning; that will be the new mean streak after a RMC treatment in 2020. I think if CP adds another bird themed roller coaster it might get too over the top... Raptor and Gatekeeper are enough for me.

CoasterGuy, when you think of a "Rougarou" do you think orange and aqua? I really think the whole "color decides the name" thing is not something that Cedar Point does and we should stop guessing based on that.

I wouldn't put too much thought into the water and lightning in the teaser. Carowinds teased Roman themeing right up until the announcement and look what it ended up being. The only thing that I'm taking out of this is the date.

2018- Raptor

CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor

Yeah, Carowinds teased anciant Romans and brought bees.
