Cedar Point App Update

Yeah, it's pretty ugly and the Internet has been debating over it for about two days now.

Yup. Not the best look, and I certainly wouldn't call it an improvement.

Most believe this signals the end of days. For Instagram.

I understand why Instagram moved to a more graphic, easily scalable icon.

But it is ugly.

I know someone who was forced off of their StarTac phone about 4 years ago because the carrier could no longer support that analog signal.

Other than needing to be constantly plugged in to be powered on, that thing was a tank!

My husband is still using our old brick phone. As long as it keeps working I'm gonna keep buying it Tracfone cards.

Still can't get the app to display the menu without a web connection, so still can't display my pass on the app until I am inside the park, so can't use it for admission.

But I did notice the wifi coverage seemed better this week, and as expected the geolocation has improved. I think I can tell where the new access points have been installed: in the places where the app can't figure out where I really am.

On a whim, I deleted and re-added my pass again. Now I have a 2014 platinum pass! Still only one visit though.

I've got my season pass loaded via Stocard on my Moto 360 watch, so will be giving that a try next visit. Would be nice if there was Android Wear support for the official CP app, but beggars can't be choosers.

On one phone, I have a 2015 pass. On another phone, I have a 2012 pass... That's about as logical as the idea to use pumps instead of gravity on Shoot the Rapids!

Has anybody tried to use their pass stored in the app or wallet yet (especially those that have their passes showing as something other than 2016)? I will be there Sunday and will test ours out.

It's the same barcode regardless of what year it shows

Is the Bluetooth functionality of the app related to the photo ops located around the park? (i.e. the flying Valravn near the throne). Also, do you have to have FunPix setup in order to get those photo ops to work?

I used the app to scan my pass this morning and it worked fine.

Any word on Maverick being down? I'm going Wednesday and I heard that Maverick Valleyed??

^ I visited the day after it valleyed one year; it was open by the afternoon.

All the coasters except TTD (due to winds) were apparently up today. I'll be there Wednesday as well.

Glad they got the App Update out, and just in time...
To make it easier for us to find shows and events and plan our day at CP and enjoy the app and have fun!!

🤔

At least they’re working on it and making it better :)

(And I get that they are probably doing all the parks at the same time and some have winter fests, it was just funny to get the update after reading the update description )
