The Sunrise Thrill Tour info was just posted:

Looks cool, and lots of stuff is included. But it's out of my budget.

Looks pretty cool! And pretty pricey.

That's way cheaper than I thought. I'll be doing it for sure

I expected $150, maybe a little less. Still, the extras definitely add to the value. It's a pretty small number of people they can accommodate every day, so I imagine they have to price it pretty high. If they don't sell any, I'm sure they'll come down.

It's within my budget, but being as they have a minimum of 2 guests/tickets per purchase, I will not be going. I don't want to buy 2 tickets for just myself, and I don't want to have to find someone to go with me. Not everyone has the same interests and would be willing to spend that much on a ticket to something like that.

The closest comparison are the tours at Busch Gardens. The one at Williamsburg is currently priced at $80, but that does not include admission, parking, or a meal.

The other thing to consider is that Busch Gardens has been doing those tours for almost a decade at this point, so I'm sure demand has fallen a bit.

I wonder if the hydraulic room of Dragster is part of the tour.

Definitely gonna do this! Sounds like a great start to a morning!!

The benefits kind of help with the cost, since we are Not gonna get all season dining plan again (unless they change it up for the better).

Katie and I are doing it on the 29th. Praying for good weather. I'll report how it goes. Any Pointbuzzers joining us on Sunday morning?

Sub out the top of Valrayvn for the top of TTD and I'm in. ;)

Just booked this for our July trip. Would love to hear feedback on what others thought about it. We will be staying at Breakers and I hope the shuttle is running at 6:15 AM 😀.

There's a shuttle on call at all times.

Haven't heard any feedback on this yet... but I did a Sunrise Tour on 7/5 and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this to anyone who was thinking about it. I know it's not cheap... but it is a great way to learn hands-on about the technical aspects of some of the rides and get some one-of-a-kind pictures. The behind the scenes tours are even better with such a small group, but the views from Valravn's first hill have to be the best part. It wasn't a quick look - we spent probably 20-25 minutes on the lift hill walking around. It mentions a light breakfast but the tour guide actually takes you into the Best Day Bistro where the employees eat for a nice sit-down breakfast with plenty of food. CoasterMania and the Coaster Campouts are great... but I thought this tour topped them all. I'm seriously considering doing it a second time.

The only thing stopping me is the two person rule. No one I go with is interested enough to spend the money and wake up at that hour.

We did this on the 4th of July. It was a pretty neat tour, and we both liked going up to the top of Valravn, but I'm not sure sure the cost is quite justified. I'd rather do CoasterMania! in conjunction with Brew & BBQ personally. Neither of us regret doing the tour.

They probably have a few reasons for the no singles rule-hopefully keeping groups even, not getting stuck doing a tour for 1 person, or even for the same reason why you can't ride the giant wheel alone-they're afraid of someone jumping. I do see why they capped the groups at a 12 person max due to the ride on Maverick at the end.

Also, we went by the camel from the barnyard during the tour behind the scenes in that area...he was a riot. He tried to keep our attention to stop us from leaving and feeding/petting him. I think our group of 10 paid more attention to him than just about anything else on the tour.

My group of two was originally going to be on the tour with you on the 4th, but we made a last minute change and ended up having the whole tour to ourselves the next day. I think 12 is the right maximum size for the group especially since only a few people can go on the Valravn lift at a time. Our tour guide did say though that one day there was a scheduling error resulting in a 19-person group - it probably wouldn't be as great with that many people. The camel never seemed too interested in us but I got some nice shots of the kangaroo hopping around in his cage.

Ditto. It is a little pricey but there isn't anyone I know or in my family that would do the tour with me.

Personally I just do not have any interest in this at the $200 price point, I feel that for what is offered I'd be willing to go for half of that. Especially as some of the added value items are meaningless to me - All day FunPix but we already have the all season pass, Single meal deal but we already have the all season dining, preferred parking? Well I never understood that one in the first place. You will walk miles each day at CP so how is there value in parking 200 yards closer to the gate?

I know there are many who feel like this a cool thing to do, it's just something I have no interest in doing at the current pricing level.

I'm doing the Sunrise tour the day after CoasterMania this year. I was afraid they were going to switch it to Steel Vengeance. So, I figured if I didn't do it on Valravn this year, I might not get a chance. I already missed the opportunity to do it at Busch Gardens.

Does anyone know what time the tour actually starts? It says 3-4 hours, but that's it. Sunrise is at 5:58. I'm just wondering if I'm going to get any sleep after a full day at CoasterMania. :-)

I'd pay an extra $100 to go up Dragster instead, I really wish there was an option for that.

Tony... If you're listening, theres another Upcharge Potential!!!
