Breaking my hiatus to respond to this, even though I'm a few days late.

CPanon; posting any information like this, no matter how certain you are of any of it being true, is not a good idea at all. Cedar Point and Cedar Fair have NDA's in place for a reason, and this is exactly it.

If anyone needs me, I'll be lurking until ~November

CPanon, samosuband is 100% correct.

I like the information. I appreciate knowing it. Management is stupid if they think leaks don't occur. Whats interesting is what CPANON is saying makes good sense. It will be interesting to see if he or she is right. Isn't free speech an important part of a forum? What if CPANON posted this same info as speculation in the general thread? CP needs to develop thicker skin. Cedar fair has much more important fish to fry than suing hourly employees who, by virtue of their status, are likely judgment proof anyway. Keep me informed CPANON...

It's nice you appreciate "knowing", but you don't know, and what good would it do you anyway?
It all reminds me of those stupid prediction vids the kids post on YouTube. It's a big fat waste of everyone's time especially theirs.

Non-disclosure agreements are in place for a reason, and one should never confuse it with violating freedom of speech. For every project there are contract negotiations that have been or will be taking place. Competition is also a thing to watch, and it matters. There's also money involved. Leaks can put the kibosh on the whole thing. Real plans and information are known to only a few, they sign the agreement, and they tell no one, not even their spouses. It's that serious.

I think back to when I worked at CP, one hundred years ago, and the same bs happened then too. There's always someone who claims to "know" when in all reality they can't and they don't. All they're worth is the proverbial grain of salt.

Rumors are just that, rumors. Nobody knows anything until it is officially announced. But yes, employees talk amongst each other about new additions. However, it's just like a game of telephone. Once it reaches you, what you might think you "know" is more than likely not 100% accurate.

That place is one of biggest rumor mills that I've ever known in my life. Something can start up front and by the time it gets to Frontiertown at the end of the day, you're lucky if 10% of what you are hearing is true, if that.

1. CP is working to establish a contract with USTR (US Thrill Rides). If the Polercoaster in Florida is a success, CP is looking to add a taller and faster version in the future, possibly as their 2020 ride. A goal of CP is to create something above 800ft tall within the next 5 years.

2. After the success of GateKeeper and Valravn, the only big B&M ride CP is missing in their collection is a flying coaster (excluding Stand Up coasters, but Mantis was not super well received). B&M has been working with CP to design/draw up a 250ft Pretzel Loop. Possible location is the island, with the station/lift near Gemini/CC Mine Ride , and the turnaround near/almost under the lift hill for MF.

5. Some other ride ops I know have been used on Iron Dragon as VR 'test dummies', especially in the morning pre-opening.

CPANON

Hmmm. I find this guy/girl's thoughts very interesting. He/She was correct about Iron Dragon VR testing. I have looked on Google Earth and what he shared about a flying coaster seems very reasonable. Of course, I have been hoping for a flying coaster for Cedar Point in 2019, but didn't know where to put it. This guy/girl seems to have a good place to put one, that, from what I have looked at on Google Earth, would fit quite well. It would be super cool to have a turnaround for a frickin flying coaster UNDER the lift hill for Millennium Force!! Also, think about Battle for Cedar Point. The only coaster that is really in the MF clan area is Millennium Force. All the other clans have more than one coaster in their clan area. (I think Rougarou and Iron Dragon are in TTD Clan, and CCMR and Gemini are in Maverick Clan).

As for a Polercoaster, I totally support the idea, especially for a 150th anniversary special addition! I have been keeping up with the I-Drive Orlando project and it seems like a really cool ride, and like we all know, Cedar Point loves to get their hands on record-breaking, REALLY COOL rides!

A 250 foot pretzel loop sounds reasonable? There aren't even any flying coasters that tall. As for an 800 foot Polercoaster, made by Intamin of all companies, is completely out of the question.

How much do you guys want to bet that CP Anon is just Tony trolling?

B&M and Cedar Point have what seems like a magical relationship. Cedar Point has proven time and time again they are willing to push the limits, the best example of which is TTD. Even though TTD isn't a B&M coaster, Cedar Point still has the same 'being the best' attitude, which they can take into their relationship with B&M. Like CPANON pointed out, the only coaster Cedar Point is missing, that B&M makes is a Flying Coaster. There is room in the stretch from CCMR, over where STR was and over to the MF lift hill. It works space wise, and as for a 250ft. Pretzel Loop, I can see CP pushing the limits and going to the point that seems impossible right now.

As for the Polercoaster, Tony has already said 2020 (CP 150th Birthday) is a big year. What else is bigger than a Polercoaster. According to the USTR website, it can be made up to 1000ft tall, so Cedar Point could build it anywhere between 500ft and 1000ft (I think 750-800 is reasonable). 150th year of the park is a chance for new relationships with fans, and companies. Maybe they do spend 40+ million dollars that year, but it is their frickin 150th anniversary after all. I don't see any reason to rule it out. As for the fact Intamin would be involved, 2020 is 4 years from now, so things can, and undoubtably will change, and Cedar Point will stop at nothing to make their 150th anniversary HUGE.

Edit: To be fair, we need to keep in mind that what we think is reasonable/unreasonable can be quite warped. 3 years before TTD, NO ONE would have thought it was possible. Now, just over 3 years until 2020, it may seem like a Polercoaster is impossible, and anything over 500ft is madness, but like Cedar Point proved with TTD, anything is possible, you just need open minds.

I hope beyond all things that a polercoaster never comes to the park. They are the definition of ugly and nothing at CP is ugly.

I really hope to see a B&M flying coaster someday soon at Cedar Point!! It's really the only coaster type offered by B&M that CP doesn't have. I hope if they do install one later down the line it's built on Shoot the Rapids former spot. Soaring above the water, dodging trees and maybe even some of Millennium Forces supports would be amazing! Record breaker or not (although with a 250 ft pretzel loop I find that hard to believe they would go that tall but it is CP after all) it would be a fantastic addition!

a 250 foot pretzel loop just sounds insanely uncomfortable.

All pretzel loops are uncomfortable. I don't understand how people can honestly say that is B&M's best element. The pretzel loop is the reason why I prefer Vekoma flyers.

Banshee was one of the first ones I really found that I liked. Most others are rough, especially in some of the transitions, but Banshee's loops were pretty sweet.

Banshee doesn't have a pretzel loop. I believe it's actually called either a pretzel twist or a pretzel knot.

Glad to see someone agrees with me! The reason I had mentioned the flying coaster could go in the STR area is exactly that. It is on the 'island' so the flying coaster could soar through trees and around water, and have part of it near the MF lift hill or supports for any part of the ride. That is why I said it could span from CCMR to MF! As for the pretzel loop, it would be cool if the bottom section is underground!

For anyone who says that 250ft Pretzel loops aren't possible or aren't happening, look at a few years before TTD! No one had ever thought something like TTD was possible, but Cedar Point worked with Intamin and made it happen. Cedar Point can do the same with B&M! Design and construct what seems like an impossible ride, but make it amazing!

When was the last flying coaster built?

They are insanely uncomfortable, and really not that much fun.
