RMC Streak Photo Update - May 7, 2017

I had thought that second inversion was a stall flipping over clockwise and being upside down the entire path through the lift. That would have been cool. However I am interested to see what it is like to have your twist reversed the way they built it. My guess is that any future inversions will just be a roll but you never know.

As far as CP for 2018....

Does anyone think the extra rooms being built in Hotel Breakers for 18 are maybe to fill a void for a complete shutdown for a year of renovations for Sandcastle Suites? Could be possible.... Or they could do exterior renovations one year and indoor the next like Breakers.

That's been brought up before, and I'd say it's a possibility.

Inversions are coming indeed - more than I expected (or really wanted for that ride.) I was not expecting such a wild result. I'm looking forward to their arrival...

WYLD STALLYNS - the ride!

Don't know if anyone has seen this picture but I wonder if GH is initials for the name.

Why would it say "MS" then?

Yeah they don't typically put the name on pieces of steel.

I don't think the GH means anything

Maybe the Good Housekeeping seal of approval?

I'm sure it means SOMETHING... but probably nothing of any interest to us. Interesting that it has MS on it too... Track production probably started before Cedar Point even knew for sure what the ride's new name would be. MS could very well stand for Mean Streak, to keep the track segments separated from other segments in the factory for different coasters in production.

Uh.... right.
Or any the other seemingly countless Hawks that live somewhere in Cedar Fair Land...

Longtime lurker, first time poster. I have been following this one really close and still can't figure out why ME closed so early for this construction. Based on everything we all know this is a 2018 project, but in all honesty to be ready by May of next year they could twiddle their thumbs for a couple of months and still easily get it done. The ledgers are up for almost the whole ride except lift hill now. There is a ton of track on site, probably all of it now. So what is going to hold them up until May of 2018, which we can basically take as fact that it will open in May of 2018.

So a couple of observations, based on the 2 teaser They are coming, they are wild and unruly. So plural of some sort. I don't see how this could possibly duel, but obviously there is something plural about this ride. What us it .......probably the name, but that seems kind of weak to me.

Looked back at means streak updates Twitter account......obviously everything stopped since the park is open. We can all agree that the person that was running the account had inside knowledge of some sort. They were able to get pictures that we couldnt, and didnt get caught for doung anything wrong. Maybe Tony, maybe not. So the account mentions the word "their" as in a possession of two people or Things. "Interesting how their is wood higher than track in this section", it also mentions the word "wild" on another post. So this person KNOWS more, before everyone else.

Based on that, what should we expect s8nce the wood is higher. There was a reason it was mentioned. Also, in a picture he point out the MCBR and asks, wonder what the plan is here. Well obviously something at least a little out of the ordinary, maybe a discourse launch, I know maverick has this but doesn't everyone else feel the similarities between the 2.

I know this is a long, long post.

So why is it going to take so long. Is it possible that this is 1 of 2 coasters. Could they add another coaster by building onto the existing structure. There is plenty of time to do that. Are they using the infield maybe for another coaster. I just don't see how this is going to take until May of 2018.

It took 2 months to lay track from the 3rd hill to the stall/dive. Maneuvering the pieces inside the structure isn't going to be easy either.

I agree there is something more to this coaster that we do not yet know. I love the similarities between Maverick and RMC Streak. I strongly believe that there is a slight launch on the MCBR after the brake. Everybody keeps saying "Is this coaster going to have enough speed to finish the 3rd lap." I say yes. Now that RMC has figured out the bugs on Lightning Rod's launch system, Cedar Point feels comfortable with a mid course launch. I started to wonder about the launch after I saw that high sharp turn to the right after the MCBR. It just seems too high to follow that drop.

^ That hard right banking hill after the MCBR is no higher than the old hill that used to travel around the outside of the structure.

They have? Lightning Rod has been down for about three straight weeks now. If the problem is not the launch we have even more to be worried about.
