Gone and missed

Things I miss from CP of the past, not saying I want them back(except for a few) as what replaced them is better. Others,I'm sure, will post up others.

Big Wheel when it was where MF is-gave a good view being it was more centrally located in the park

Barbecue food place where MF is.

Mantis of 1996-before the first hill brake was added during the 96-97 offseason. The higher speed caused everyone to unboard with wobbly knees.

Space Spiral-I miss the views even thou the windows were not the clearest and the 'heat' in the ride.

Donut Time-I want it back because of the pastry.

The Forest Patch in Snoopy Boutique.

Carnevil by the stadium-a good open area for the characters.

Dodgem by the Magnum entrance.

Starlight Experience with the Peanuts floats.

The canoe water ride replaced by Maverick.

1.IMAX theater. I know this is not a well liked thing, but... CP was the only place (that I could locate) where you could see a IMAX movie for free. Well... the penance was the pre-show which was a bit hit or miss.

2.Starlight. This was a VERY awesome thing. Very.

3.Space Spiral - way back when the AC was working well.

4.The funhouse by where Tiki Twirl is now. In fact, that whole midway. It has lost much of its intimacy. At least when the fish-show was on you could go stand in the shade and watch the fish do fishy things.

5.Frontier sky ride. I would take this over Mangarou 10000x over. It was simply the very best way to exit the park... I am not just talking about departing at the end of the day. It was so tall and so remote that it was like a little decompression from the in-your-face of the park.

6.CP owned and operated ferry service to and from downtown Sandusky. CP still owns the pier and building in Sandusky... just leases it to others.

7.River cruises-in any of its incarnations. We'd all be interested to see how that fur pricing is going nowadays.

8. Good food. It was not healthy, but it tasted good. That really helped ease the pricing extravagance. I'd go so far as to say that there have been recent improvements in the taste of the food department. I hope that trend continues.

9.<inset name of here> dark ride. Nuff said.

10.Any of the water themed rides that didn't ALWAYS drown you. If my stepdad rode in the front of White Water Landing, drowning was assured. Of course he'd have to play a piano side-saddle to be able to reach the keys... Seriously tho, the current offerings assure that you will be actually really really wet afterwards. I am not a fan.

The Funhouse, Rotor, the original Shoot the Rapids ( wonderful memory of myself and the two other guests in the boat engaging in an inpromptu performance of "rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby"), Jumbo Jet, the double ferris wheel...

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

Fun House, both dark rides and the Putt Putt course where planet snoopy is now.

Well, the Western Cruise, of course.

That was by far the sketchiest place in the park. Was surprised it was gone, but not sad at all.

The old Dodgems cars. The new ones are slow and flimsy. It's hard to get any real satisfaction out of slamming someone with the glittery wimps.

I believe the forest patch in the Snoopy Boutique was originally part of the Berenstain Bear Country.

The canoe ride you speak of was actually the Swan Boats. They ended up at Michigan's Adventure.

Unless he means White Water Landing, which had canoes and was replaced by Maverick...

[URL][IMG]^^^ yes, white water landing,as they used its' building incorporated into Maverick.

The forest patch in snoopy boutique had 'peanuts' characters,a 'great pumpkin patch',and Snoopy on a log bench as a 'photo op'.

Berenstain Bear Country

It's hard to tell from this photo, but I feel like the floor looks similar.

I agree. What was Berenstain Bears was replaced with the Peanuts/Snoopy franchise when that came in.

The aforementioned BBQ place that stood for many years in what is now Millenium Force's location brings back fond memories. I loved how the aroma of cooking meat drifted across the midway far, and wide. Did that place have a name? I don't recall much other than the wonderful smell.
