Crazy things you hear while waiting in line...

That is why it would be funny.

While in line for The Beast at Kings Island last Monday, I ran into a woman from Sandusky who, as it turns out, was a coaster enthusiast, and closely following progress on RMC Mean Streak. Heck, she even knew about the names that Cedar Fair trademarked.

I know that might not sound so crazy by itself, but think about it—after hearing so many insane things from the GP, it was pretty jarring to actually hear something sensible while waiting in line for a change. Simply put, I found it crazy in an ironic way.

Earlier this week I was in line for Millennium Force, and this lady comes bursting into the line and passing everyone, saying: "I need to get to my kids". So we let her through, no biggie right? As we watch her go up the ramp, she went right into the station, and came off the ride with no kids or any indication of meeting and kids. Honestly we should have made her wait.

Same line, this teenager next to us is on her phone talking to someone, and she says: "yeah we're in line for the mean streak." gee whiz...

RMC streak or bust!

I've seen the same thing happen with the line jumpers several times this year. At this point, I stopped letting them past, because it's happened a few times.

CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium

Out of the Cedar Fair parks I've been to, the line jumping at Knotts was by far the worst.

I'll confess to being a line jumping, well, jerk. For example, I was at Hersheypark on line for Lightning Racer when a mother came bustling through. I kept a firm grasp on both handrails and blocked her. Sorry, if you need to be with your children when they ride, you need to be with them in the line.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

Or they need to wait for you at the entrance until you get to the line.

Granted, at Waldameer this past week we had 9 people in line for the Whacky Shack and saw another group member out on the midway and called them over so we could fill 5 cars evenly and no one was left alone. Of course, the line was only about 25 people long at that point and we were at least 4 cars from the loading platform, so I felt as though we didn't inconvenience anyone, as much as I disliked the idea of having them cut into line with the rest of the group.

Happened to be by dragster when it opened in the morning and overheard a few people talking about the water dripping off the launch track. Best explanation I heard was that the water cooled the superconducting launching magnets. I wanted to chip in that it actually cools the flux capacitors attached to the magnets ;)

Was in line for MF this morning during early entry and a group of college aged kids behind me were discussing the "new Mean Streak" which one of them finally correctly referred to as the "Steel ... .. Ve..Vengeance I think it's called". After advising his female companions that it is keeping all of its old wooden structure and just getting a new steel track, one of the girls scoffed that it will just be like the Gemini. Her guy friend replied, yes, but that it will have a couple of loops.

Got off MF last week and a girl with an aussie accent was telling her friend how cool it was to see the ocean from the top of the first hill.

Okay, I know I just had an entry in this thread a few hours ago, but I overheard an even better one later today - waiting in line for Maverick ERT, there were three girls in line behind me - I am guessing about college age. They were jabbering the entire time we were waiting. At one point, one of them got on her phone and asked a friend: "You know that movie, Titanic? What was the name of the boat they were on?" Then they all laughed hysterically when they found out that the boat in the movie was actually named Titanic.

I took the family for an end-of-season trip to silver dollar city. While riding the tram from parking lot to front gate, ride operator told everyone on the tram to check out construction of SDC's new ride Time Traveler which will be "the fastest roller coaster in the world!" 😳

Tall and fast not so much upside down...

He left out the word "spinning".

Yesterday when I was coming out of Blood On The Bayou, I heard someone say TTD isn't running because they have to shut it down for BOTB.

Brian
Valravn Rides: 24| Steel Vengeance Rides: 27| Dragster Rollbacks: 1

Saturday night a lady said Maverick was down because of cut throat cove.

^^ Maybe I don't fully understand this thread, but neither of those things sound "crazy" to me. More like misinformed patrons being wrong about something.

LOL you just made my day!

RMC streak or bust!

A couple weeks ago me and my friend were waiting in line at Cedar Creek Mine ride and a guy asked me how steel vengeance was? I politely told him the ride isn't even ready yet.
After the ride me and Brian(Thabto) were laughing.

Shawn, you should've told the guy SV is awesome and he should try it since the line was short. : )
