Winter Thrills

Having relocated back to NE Ohio after living in the kitschy industrialized swampland known as Central Florida, I’m missing some of the attractions.

What thrill options are you all planning on enjoying this winter? I’m planning on visiting the ice chutes in Strongsville, Brandywine for snow tubes and Kennywood for their winter offerings. Kings Island is certainly an option as well as visiting the Sandusky area indoor water parks. Am I missing anything?

I’ll definately be spending a ton of time at Boston Mills/Brandywine, as well as hopefully a few trips to Seven Springs or Holiday Valley. Kings Island Winterfest tomorrow.

Yes, skiing for sure! Love winter, bring on the snow!

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I will be spending a lot of time at the bar near a fire...lol

Snowmobiling soon.

I really want to go sledding, but I just got over bronchitis.

I have a DN (ice yacht). All I need is ice.

Honestly, that sounds awesome! Sailing, but on ice.

Personally I love fall except for one thing... It means WINTER IS COMING! We are barely expecting to get into the teens for high temperatures for the next 10 days. Ugh. It’s too cold even for skiing or playing in the snow.

Shane we are definitely in for it the next few weeks. The past couple winters have been easy, it looks like the winter of 2018 will be very Game of Thrones ;)

But if we can make it through, a song of Steel and Vengeance awaits all of us!

I guess I’m okay trading a cold cold winter for a summer like we had last year where it was never blistering hot...

Hardly, skiing is quite comfortable with temps in the teens provided you have the correct gear. I've been out on the local hill every day this week trying out my new skis. Going to Holiday Valley for a long New Year's weekend, expecting sub zero temps at night. Coldest it has been when I've skied was -22 F at the bottom of the mountain.

Well I guess the actual skiing isn’t the problem. But the chairlift though... When that wind starts ripping through you, no thanks. We went a couple years ago when it was 3-5°. We froze our rear ends off. Snow was great, though.
