It's really not that bad. It's just cool and overcast. No rain *fingers crossed*

Any word on when CM tickets will go on sale? Were SV trains on site yet, or a front car like in years past?

I saw on a live stream that the trains are not there yet. But they are arriving soon.

What all was mentioned in the presentation?

The presentation was mostly what's already been posted here

-Abundant changes to foods and shows
-Maverick tunnel theme stuff
-Some very general info about the new boardwalk
-Coaster Campout and Coastermania dates (coastermania goes on sale March 6th NOT AT MIDNIGHT)

Someone asked if there was a first rider auction and they said yes but there is no date set yet. Someone also asked about a passholder preview but I wasn't paying attention to what they said.

16 - Pipe Scream
17 - TL Slingshot
18 - TL Steel Vengeance
19 - Sup Tiques/Wave

Had a great time as always. Great event!

CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini

At the 8am group presentation Tony talked about pre-season stuff:
1. He said there is no more "auction" stuff , but there will be a "First Rider Benefit", a limited quantity ticketed event for charity, similar to how Chill Out is, based on what he was saying.
2. Without getting specific, he also spoke of multiple chances to ride SV before opening day, with some option for general public and for passholders, but was very vague in that area.

An awesome day - thank you so much to everyone at CP for giving up your Saturday to put on such a great event.

I really liked having lunch at the end, it eliminated the long lull in the middle of the day and it was nice to eat and then head out. I didn't go to the Amazement Shop and am already regretting it.

A great day!

No word on the Sandcastle Suites area? Also, what will sit on the old Sports Stadium? Grass?

Wish we heard more about the SV area!

And I assume The Frontier Fling will remain?

We were to stay on the gravel areas so we couldn't get close to the entrance. What's interesting is that the Emporium will become the exit gift shop for SV, no details were given as far as a crossing or path to the building. So we will have to wait on that one.

We were told if nothing was specifically said about an existing ride that means it's returning this year. So I'm sure Frontier Fling will stay.

Re: Sandcastle Suites land

Jason McClure, Cedar Point's vice president and general manager, said more is planned for the land, which is ideally located at the western end of the Cedar Point peninsula, with Lake Erie on one side and Sandusky Bay on the other.

"We have plenty of space back there to build," said McClure. "It's an amazing piece of land. To me, it's a ripe opportunity for our continued resort development."

He said an announcement about the property wasn't likely until the fall, at the earliest.

“ it's a ripe opportunity for our continued resort developmeant. “

Sure doesn’t sound like adding any more concrete slabs than they already did.

I’m very excited about what’s going to happen on this site, hope plans are ready for a fall announcement. What an exciting year for CP!

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

I asked Tony about the boardwalk at our presentation. The boardwalk will not have restricted access at any time during the day. To put it another way, he confirmed that any Platinum Passholder who parks in the main lot can walk down the boardwalk and reach the Resorts Entrance for Early Entry.

When we were told this info, I got the impression that they intend for it to simply be where you get all of your Steel Vengeance swag. Not necessarily like the exit gift shops for Maverick, Gatekeeper and Valravn.

It really is, not just for this year but for the continued development that is happening. When Matt Ouimet came in, he put a team together that truly understood the potential of CP becoming a regional destination resort and put plans in place to make it happen. It is CP going back to it's roots but on a much bigger scale. I love the "a place like no other" marketing campaign and it truly is a place like no other. I think this is the most exciting and significant transformation since the Roose and LeGross years of the 60's and 70's and I can't wait to see the further evolution of the resort.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

My wife and I were talking about how much has changed in recent years at the park. It really is exciting. She first came to CP with me back in 2008 and the amount of change in the last 10 years is staggering. Just today at the presentation there were at least 10 changes announced, plus all of the things we knew already. I think the park is going to go big over the next 2 years as well for the 150th, it's going to be a wild ride and not just on the coasters.
