Toft's Rougarou Ice Cream

Coasterguy here,

I was at my local grocery store and was surprised to see this:

I did not know Cedar Point and Toft's came together to develop "Rougarou Ice cream". I did buy it (it was on sale too!) and though it was pretty good. The description is that of "Thick mint fudge variegate racing through dark chocolate ice cream loaded with chocolate mint balls". I would definitely recommend to anyone that enjoys mint ice cream, or fans of the thin mint girl scout cookies.

With that being said, what other ice cream flavors inspired by Cedar Point could Toft's develop? Maybe vanilla ice cream with cotton candy or blue raspberry streaks throughout after the Blue Streak? Post your thoughts below!

I tried it on Media Day and liked it. I had to look up "variegate" because I had never seen that word in my life.

Where is your local grocer? Near Sandusky?

You see the word "variegated" most often used to describe a plant that has two or more colors on it's leaves. Using it to describe a variation in ice cream texture/flavor seems weird, almost like an industry term or something. How about "ripple" or "swirl"?

I tried it at Rougarou's Media Event and it was pretty good. Have had it a few times since at Toft's in Sandusky. they obviously sell it there but I haven't seen it around the Perrysburg area when I live.

I find it interesting that they partnered with both Toft's for a Rougarou ice cream and The Brew Kettle for Rougabrew. Is this a sign to come for new major attractions? It gets the Cedar Point name and brand out there.

Toft's had a Millennium Force ice cream a few years ago, at least sold at Meijer in Sylvania. The flavor was French Vanilla Force Churn- a low fat vanilla.

About 2 weeks ago I tried the Rougarou Milk Shake back in FT at the new Coca Cola Fountain & Floats (across from Maverick) made with this same ice cream. Needless to say, I highly recommend it. If you try one, let me know.

I'm a mint ice cream whore, so I could totally get behind this. Alas, Toft's doesn't sell in the OC.

I've had Toft's Rougarou ice cream. It's just as tasty as how good the ride is!

Years ago whenever we went to Camp Perry, Toft’s was a MUST STOP for my Dad!

^^Chocolate ice cream with cherry swirl and dark chocolate chunks. Er, if they asked me. Which they didn’t. XP

Proud 5th Liner and CP fan since 1986.

I’d say vanilla/caramel with pieces of toffee and drumstick cones crunched up in there.
