Passholder Preview Night

I hope you are joking. I truly do have an issue, i was in a very serious auto accident, ive never worked since. I do hate that anyone can get a ride pass, they really dont ask for much proof. I have proof and am not just aaking to ask, i wish i was normal again and be able to drive, stand in line, etc.

By the way i think you guys are refrrring to a different post than mine, im pretty touchy about not being able to do everything. I am so thankful for what CP is doing for passholders, i expect to walk thw entire way, i just move slow and have to take breaks.

If you feel like your condition would make it hard for you to get to the ride in time, I can imagine they would be more than happy to assist you with a time that works for you. Just explain your situation to the park.

My guess is they would honor your time as long as it’s later and not earlier. After all, everyone just gets one trip anyway.

I'm not going. I can't get off of work. Even if I could, I've got 3 days reserved during the week in May before school lets out. From prior years looking at webcams I'd say 15 minute waits on all the rides. If that's not the case I won't be in tears. But that's the goal.

Just wanted to share my interpretations of the event. I'd say this is going to be a low volume event since It's spread across 3 days.

Starting with food. The stands will be open for business. Free samples of the new products will be offered. Now how the hell you gonna get full if you wait in line over and over to eat 1 onion ring. I'm sure they'd want to sell an order of onion rings, but samples will be available. Just using onion rings as a example. Not sure what the real new food offerings are, but blame me if there aren't onion rings.

If I did go I wouldn't be driving 2.5 hour for one ride. I'd get multiple rides on Maverick, SkyHawk, and CCMR. I'm not going to reread what's offered open because I'm not going, but I'd assume that it will be low volume and there won't be long lines on the rides that aren't Steel Vengeance. But if it rains or the rides are down for other problems well it's in the disclaimer. But if one of the rides I mentioned isn't on the agenda blame me.

As far as Steel Vengeance, I would imagine that with one ride per visitor they will start running trains with empty seats. And at that time I would think they'd open the Fast Lane Plus line for standby riders. I would think that would please the people who go to the event. Here is how I come to this conclusion. Of all the extra or early ride time events I've gone to exclusive to season pass holders I've always gotten multiple rides. These were one hour events. There are only x amount of pass holders. The event is more than one hour. You can't go all 3 days so your talking less than 33% of all pass holders can go. Not all pass holders will go. I'd be upset if the ride was commissioned and then they ran half empty trains during the event. The idea is that this ride is going to still be running 30 years from now, right?

The plus side for the park is with all the buzz about the ride this is an excellent way for them to sell more season passes that they ever have. And that would help with the bottom line. Now if you only get one ride blame me. But I'm not going and to be honest I try to stay away from the new ones because I like that the lines for the older ones gets shorter every time there's a new one.

I still think everyone needs to prepare for the fact that you will get ONE ride on Steel Vengeance at this event. Why? Because that is what the park has stated in a very direct manner.

But that is like eating one potato chip!

I thought about that, we will see whst time i get when we get there, im not that worried. What's hard for me is the hour early in the park, its a good little hike back to maverick and steel vengeance, most people do the fast walk but i cant. Tomorrow is opening nigby at KI, cannot wait. One thing i like better at CP is the hour early in the patk, KI does only 1/2 hour and only mystic timbers which i dont understand, last year Banshee was also ooen.

With the exception of 1 year, it's pretty much always been a 1/2 hour of ERT. KI doesn't have the resort guests to maintain a well attended hour ERT session. When I worked at the park there was an hour for ert and most of the time it was the same 25-30 people on each ride open for the 1st 1/2 hour.

As far as the rides, the rides change after 3 months.

Thanks chugh, i didnt really think about that. All years that ive gone its 1/2 hour, which is completely fine, im thankful they do that. Was bummed about Banshee, we try to go to that side of the park first since most run right to MT, i prefer to stay away from those crowds til later. I wish CP was my home parl again, we seriously want to move closer, just have to figure out where.

Darn it, i looked at the link after i posted lol. I dont know what i was thinking. Im glad to see Banshee and later on Diamondback, thanks for posting that.

Why? It's been very clearly stated that for this event you will get ONE ride. Why would they want to start upsetting anyone by giving certain people multiple rides and others only get one?

From what I read they will not be doing anything EXTRA at this event. Food stands will only be providing free samples, fastlanes will not be sold. Stand by lines will not be open. They will give you an assigned time to get in line for your 1 ride based off when you get there. Expecting anything more or extra will set yourself up for disappointment. The only thing EXTRA I've seen will be select Steel Vengeance merch will be available for purchase.

^ 'Steel Vengeance merch available for purchase'.....We got our T-shirts last year and have been wearing them alot.

They did have items available at the Chill Out...key rings, pins, a couple of different ball cap/hat designs. Did not spring for a hat...but, if they would have had a VISOR, we would have sprung for those. --hint CP--

Steel Vengeance hopefully won't have a ton of technical issues when it opens. It isn't an overly complex ride compared to something like Maverick.

I doubt it will have a ton of technical issue considering IOE is doing the controls programming.

^Twisted Timbers has had some down time and moments of just one train op due to mechanical issues after it opened from reports I've read. Nothing too out of the norm though. So I don't see too much to be concerned about, this isn't new tech. All new rides have some bugs and hiccups, especially during soft openings. One reason I chose the 3rd evening of the preview.

IOE or not, there likely will be some sort of issues. IOE has done controls on a few RMCS now. Controls or not, there are still issues with RMC coasters that have caused downtime.

I love the folks with IOE, but I wouldn't say just because they worked on the rides, it doesn't mean the ride won't have issues.

Rides are machines. Of course this will be some sort of down time here or there. I’m simply saying that IOE is good at what they do, I doubt there will be a ton of technical issues. I have high hopes for the operations and success of this ride compared to other rides in the past.

TwistedWicker77, exactly. By far the biggest issue I have heard about RMC trains is their restraint system sensors are extremely particular. I believe that was the core issue behind the one train operations down at KD. But that falls on RMC to resolve.

But in general yes, IOE is very good at what they do. I love the fact that they share so much on their Facebook page.

I'd be surprised if they're running half-full (not half-empty... look at the bright side :) ) trains during this event. I'm guessing they've made enough tickets available to fill the ride capacity for the entire duration of the event, with the assumption that if they run late, it's okay. People will still get their ride. I'm willing to bet there will be a steady line the entire time.
