Debating between two Hotel breakers room styles, advice/opinions?

I've never actually stayed at breakers, but I've been going to CP all my life and decided to splurge and treat myself and my fiance to a night there opening weekend.

I've always wanted to stay in the rotunda, but I'm debating between that and what seems to be a bigger room for only ten dollars more with a balcony. Is it worth it to be in the rotunda/how are those rooms compared to others? I've attached the pics of the ones Im choosing between.

Thanks guys!

Rotunda definitely. A Lakeview on the 4th or 5th floor, you have a view of WT to your right, panoramic view of the beach and lake from the room and bathroom. Absolutely one of the best rooms in the hotel.

I say Rotunda all the way. I have stayed at Breakers probably ten times over the best three years since remodel. We have stayed in the other suite style about eight days, and had two days in the premium corner suites with a very nice spacious balcony with sliders looking unto the lake. The other suites are nice, but nothing special. The corner suites are awesome, but we only did it because we were approved for a check-in upgrade. The Rotunda is beautiful and centrally located, right by the coffee shop, and bar. Personally I have been tempted to get a Rotunda room but with six people we would have been one person over max occupancy. Overall, the Rotunda would lead to what I believe a more memorable experience, and the other suite would feel more like just another suite.

Something to keep in mind, the Rotunda rooms are 100% remodeled. The other rooms that were holdovers from the old Breakers inventory often have some of the old fixtures in them that were installed with the level of quality you’d expect from the old hotel. Largely, the bathrooms utilize the old fixtures and some have problems with draining, faucet controls and are smallish with dated layouts.
The climate controls in the old units are also mostly holdovers and suffer the same quality issues you’d expect.

Oh, Rotunda without a doubt. If nothing else, it’s the most historic, authentic, and dare I say charming experience to be had at that hotel. Color my opinion with the knowledge that I stayed in those crappy rooms as an employee way back when, and I’d welcome the chance to do it again in an updated fashion.

The rotunda rooms are pretty cool, I would go for one of those. You won't miss the balcony if the weather is on the cool side and the Surf Lounge patio is just a short elevator ride away if you do want to sit outside.

If it’s just the 2 of you, will that extra space really come into play? And if you’re going opening weekend any wind coming off the lake will probably be pretty cold, so how much time will you spend on the balcony?

We stayed at Sandcastle Suites the past 2 CoasterManias and never used the balcony.

We’ve stayed at Breakers several times, but all pre-renovation. I’ve always been intrigued by the newly reopened Rotunda rooms. That’s such a cool looking area.

$10/night for a couple nights is pretty much negligible in the big picture. Look at the floor layouts and ask which one works better for you.

We've stayed in all of the various room types over the years (excluding the Presidential Suite) and prefer the rotunda. Newly remodeled, spacious, historical, and I love the view of the Rotunda when we walk out the door.
