And the boardwalk trick worked for us. Parked in the front lot and took a nice stroll along the boardwalk to the magnum entrance. They’ll let you in the park but not beyond the barricades just after TTD’s tower until it’s open to the general public.

Going to try this "boardwalk trick" tomorrow for early entry. Better give myself some extra time, in case it doesn't work out. Opening weekend Sunday, I entered through the marina entrance and by the time I brisk walked back to SV, the line was pretty long. Hopefully, I can get more towards the middle of the line by doing this.

Got one ride on it yesterday. The sign said 2 hours but we only waited an hour and fifteen. The line flies with one train I can only imagine how fast it could go with more. It did break down in the late afternoon, not sure if it ended up reopening but the ride was stuck on the break run when I walked past.

The ride itself is fantastic. The park and RMC really put everything into making this one of the best roller coasters to exist.

Not sure why everyone thinks the line flies with one train because it certainly doesn't and the capacity is awful. I'm sure the crew does as well as they can to minimize station time, but the line isn't flying.

I think for a lot of people it's just exciting to be around a new ride. I waited for it from basically 8AM-1PM on opening Sunday and it didn't FEEL all that long to me because I was excited about the ride and could see a bit of what they were working on while waiting in the station for 2-2.5 hours. I remember doing the same thing in 2003 with Dragster when it was only running three shortened trains on opening day. I wouldn't be super happy about an experience like that every time though. :)

Crowds will pick up a lot within a few weeks. Hopefully things get resolved.

My thought exactly. How is moving forward 20 people, stop for 5 minutes, move forward 20 people, stop for 5 minutes... flying?

Maybe my brain is wired differently, but standing still always makes me feel like the line is much longer than it is while conversely if I am moving it makes the line seem shorter than it is.

I would hope the park has an idea how long before its resolved. I completely understand that these things happen, but while the park is using this ride as a marketing tool to bring people into the park then they should at least keep the public informed on what they know and when they believe the ride will be back at normal opps. If they have no idea, then just state that.

Is parking in the CP Shores lot an option right now during early entry since CP Shores is not open yet? Or are they still restricting parking back there?

They did.

“We will keep you updated once we receive further details from the manufacturer.”

RMC could still be in the investigation phase.

Parking: The Park seems to allow parking at the CPS lot prior to 9:30 currently, but that could change anytime. Don’t rely on it.

You mean like two guys spending about $1000 to travel from Florida to ride this monster (and of course, all the other coasters)? LOL Hopefully Mon/Tues is light so we can get a few rides.

You can park in the Cedar Point Shores parking lot before 930, until CP Shores opens later this month. I just parked back there last Sunday, they even removed the preferred parking back there.

Thanks.

My plan is to park in my usual spot in the main lot and walk the boardwalk back to that entrance. I could use the exercise.

Try talking with the other guests while waiting in line. It's amazing how much you might learn from other coaster nerds like us. Definitely makes the line feel like it's going faster. Make the line part of the experience. Lighten up and enjoy yourself, especially since you are about to ride the best coaster on the planet.

P.S. This doesn't mean complain to your neighbors or act like a know-it-all dork, either...lol

Man, don't wait in line with me. I already don't say much, when I'm waiting I say even less. Hahaha

I get it. This is why I never try to get on antique cars or anything of the sort. However, I have to agree with the above. Only one ride thus far and it moved steady. Perhaps it was because I was expecting the worst with one train, the anticipation of my first ride, and cool people around me. Either way it said 120 minutes and I waited 1.5 hours. I also find it much better when they position everyone into a seat instead of relying everyone to flood the station like in the old days.

I agree that sometimes you can have fun in the queue with the people around you or whatever and it can FEEL faster. But the reality is, with one train ops, you're moving at the most 24 people every 4 minutes. That's not flying by any means. Flying was Gemini with 6 trains where you literally just walked through the line and never stopped.

The line wouldn't be flying... but keep in mind without FL+ to slow the main line you're getting a faster main line than 1 train with FL+, which may have been the speed you went in expecting since FL+ is the "new normal" so to speak.

Can you bring your phone with you (in theory)? My "home park" Universal Orlando has friggen metal detectors on the coasters, which is the worst.

^Yes, but only in a zippered or buttoned or otherwise fastened pocket.

So what you can't have your phone in your pocket, even if it's secured at Universal?

Nope. Free lockers before the queue though. And a wand at the entrance.

That makes up for it IMO.
