millennium force! why 2 trains?

😁🤔😁 That wouldn't surprise me. I've seen fast passes higher this year than last. Plus I heard they went to maximum capacity 2 weeks ago. I left by 12:30.

Millennium Force was running 3 trains when I was there Wednesday. I was surprised though cause the previous trips it was only 2 trains and I was wondering why isn't the 3rd train running until I saw this topic.

Maybe Cedar Point needs to hire more mechanics and stock more parts?

Buehler, Buehler?

Yeah, they really should have more custom made parts that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars just lying around.

3 train operation today at least when we were there 9:00-12:00.

Just saw an Instagram post of MF stuck on the lift. Queue abandoned and EMS setting up for an evac. As much as I would hate for Millie to be down, this supposed cable issue is clearly a long-term maintenance concern that the park needs to address as such.

If it's an issue, the park will address it

They didn’t do an evac. Sat from the boat and watched. They train finally got going with everyone aboard. It’s been running 3 trains good since then.

So definitely something going on with the lift. It was running 3 trains today but the lift was no longer variable speed, rather it was slower the whole way up (Meaning 8 MPH or so instead of the 13 MPH). There was no speed up after the last train cleared the on-course block.

I wonder if they are worried about stress on the motor that speed up causes, or perhaps just pulling the train faster in general. Other thought is the issue was with the control of the variable speed itself, so just slowing it was the solution.

There seems almost no impact operationally as intervals were pretty much the same and the line was moving well. Could write a whole book on what the 5 seconds slowdown will and wont due, but quick thinking it should not be much. Would not be surprised this is a permanent change to the ride.

Oh, and there is zero impact on the ride itself with the slower lift. Ok, it might go 93.12MPH now instead of 93.16 MPH with the faster lift, but wind and temperature will have a much bigger impact on the ride quality. With warm weather and a light wind tonight, it was as fast as ever.

So has there been any juicy news with the motor or the lift hill recently?

As far as I know it has been getting trains up the lift hill every weekend. Although after Sunday night, I hear the ride will have an extended downtime.
