Not sure why they made this change, but it certainly throws a huge wrench in our plans !

I wonder if it occurred to them that this might be the only chance some folks get to enjoy Halloweekends and the haunts in their full glory ?

I was super before Super Stew was cool !

It's interesting that the crowd is not huge today like is customary for the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend. The main parking lot looks to be about three-quarters full or maybe a little bit more, but not the run out of space, park in the grass like I was expecting.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

It might have been the weekend after Columbus Day was the highest crowded but I swear I still recall reading about how crowded it was weekend of.

Maybe after all these years enough people finally have figured out not to go on Columbus Day Saturday?

The weather forecast was also awful for this weekend. I'm sure that had a good bit of impact.

You're correct. This weekend has been very crowded for years, now; hence the later hours.

That said, I do find it surprising that this wouldn't be the one Sunday when all the outdoor haunts are going given the crowds/hours.

I agree with Pete - we were there this weekend Friday and Saturday, and the crowds were very manageable. Friday early entry was especially good - we got on Steel Vengeance twice, Dragster, and Valraven all within the around the first hour or so that we were in the park. Saturday we waiting about 45 minutes to get onto Millenium in the late afternoon.

Great weekend in the park until the monsoon hit around 8:00 Saturday night. We had just ridden the train to the back of the park to hit some of the scare zones when the real rain started, and they shut down the train so we had walked back to the front (where we were parked that day) in as nasty a rain as I've ever endured at CP.

Hmm, forecast is looking quite cool this coming weekend. That might lessen the crowds, last year it was in the 70s and clear.

It was 83 degrees this Saturday and crowds were light. What do you want, walk ons on SV without FL+?

The park is already having a crap year, Let’s hope they can get some positive numbers at the end of season to lessen the blow.

Maybe lots of people who remember what the last few weekends were like last year have decided to pass on that this year, especially Saturday on Columbus Day weekend. Any time friends ask me for advice on days to go I tell them not to go that day and what it is likely to be like if they do. That and the threat of rain this year kept some people away I'm sure.

Most (if not all) Northeast Ohio schools are closed this Friday for NEOEA day. Friday night could be busier than usual, and that could extend to Saturday. Some years this school closure falls on the Friday of Columbus Day weekend, other years the Friday after. Would be interesting to see how much it relates to an uptick in CP attendance.

If only our school district actually used the day off for something. Whenever there is a Monday off, our local schools also (usually) take the Friday off...they made it (this past Friday) a "waiver day". School is back in session this Friday, as they are off again today for Columbus day...or in other words, no reason at all.

And yes, we are a NE Ohio school. I hadn't heard of NEOEA...perhaps I should pass this on to our school board.

It’s clear they’re not teaching civics at your school, how sad and telling.

I work at a bank and got the day off. Why would your bank be open when the Federal Reserve is closed?
