Closing Day 2018

Another season is almost in the books. The rain has held off at least this morning, heck, even the sun is peeking out. No real traffic coming in at Early Entry time. Have a good last day, everyone! And fingers crossed for that afternoon rain to hold off as long as possible.

I'm planning on being there late afternoon until the end.

Well right now I’m sitting in my car hoping the rain will subside

Everything is down to 1-2 trains after 15 minutes of light rain. Because Cedar Point.

I want to be there but I don't know if it's going to happen. I saved my free fastlanes even but I don't know some members of the family aren't as up for rain and cold as others.

Yeah I used my Fastlane pass for today to. The lines are less than 10 minutes on most rides though.

Slowish days are some of the best FL days

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

Everything is down to single train ops. Even Valravn. Still walk on city.

Looks like there's a possibility for it to let up past 5 so still not sure we may try. Not super excited for being wet and cold, been there and done that a few weeks ago, but still hate the idea of not riding anything until May. It's an hour drive though so with my luck we'll decide to go and then they'll close early or something. I would hope they wouldn't do that last day.

I'm about an hour away as well. Since they have closed early before, they may do that again.

I'll wait until May for my next visit.

Jeez, it's cold...

I'm only a half hour away, and from the looks of things they're testing the rides. I have to stay in my car for a bit more to warm up some more though.

Steel Vengeance rides: 210

I'd rather be sailing

Marina operations attendant 2021-2023

Rides have opened back up after the rain delay. MF just added another train.

Sounds like a good day to be there. Paid off for those who gambled with the weather.

Enjoying the Ohio park on the shores of beautiful Lake Erie since the mid-1970s!

I was there. Also noticed that Valravn was down for mechanical around 5 o’clock and saw that there were 2 trains at the top of the lift. 1 was right before the drop chain, and the other was at the very peak of the lift hill. Pretty awkward to see. Other than that, it was a solid day as they got all rides tested and opened as soon as possible.

EDIT: Anybody notice if Dragster ever made it up today after the rain stopped?

Hard to believe the final day of the 2018 season is here. Feels like just yesterday we were praying to the CP and RMC Gods to collaborate and listen.
Might have been a bumpy start but SV was a mostly solid performer the entire season. The only element I’d change would be the final bunnies into the breaks. Just slightly too extreme. Otherwise SV is more EPIC than I could have ever conceptualized. Haven’t laughed, gasped, yelled, hooted or Hollered on any ride quite like that perhaps ever.

Might have been a bumpy start

I see what you did there.

Valravn Rides: 24| Steel Vengeance Rides: 27| Dragster Rollbacks: 1

Got there at 4:45pm, the large rain 'storm' was done. Everything appeared to be running from the car when I parked. Went to first aid to say hi/bye to Sylvia. Went thru Pagoda and bought some pins. Went to Valravn and testing in progress. Stood in the line and rain started. They opened the line as rain was increasing. Rain increased going up the lift hill and as short of a ride as Valravn is,I got soaked. Rain increased more in intensity, I looked around and saw no other rides running. Called it quits and left at 6:15. The visit didn't go as I was hoping for but at least I got one ride on a wet and rainy last day of the season. Oh well.

We (at least part of the family) ended up getting there around 5:30. Hit Blue Streak and then headed towards Millennium Force. Stopped at the restrooms and when we came out it was raining. I look and there are both my honor roll children standing in the rain with their ponchos in their pockets....we rode Millennium in the rain, met up with a friend at Sweet Spot and then walked our way to the back of the park in the rain. Rode Magnum in the rain. When we got to Steel Vengeance the rain stopped so we used those free fastlanes and marathonned that baby until close. Worth the gamble.

Dragster opened between the early afternoon rain and the late afternoon rain for maybe 45 minutes.

to Paisley, sounds like you did very well.
