With Dwight Schrute as the captain.

Assistant to the captain.

Assistant captain, thank you very much

They need to bring back the old style Halloweekends.

  • bring back all the themed midway decorations and colored lights, now it's just millions of pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, gourds, b/c it's easier.
  • the celebrity themed skeletons in the gardens
  • the aliens and 50's diner themes at Coasters
  • the actual creepy music they used to play in midways, the music they play now is mediocre
  • actually fill in and decorate the open spaces, like the mardi gras stuff above bayou refreshments instead of leaving it empty and be lazy.
  • so many open areas that I remember used to have decor but now are just left empty.
  • the shows today are OK, could use some improvement

as for the haunts, yes, it's good to change them up a bit, but really, they are just lacking, even the new ones.

  • Cornstalkers has gone down hill and needs spruced up or changed into something new
  • Hexed sucked this year with the flashlights, used as an excuse for laziness as an attempt to make the haunt "better" when it was fine before. Also, maybe like 3 screamsters were in there at most!
  • bring a haunt into the picnic area by Raptor, was awesome with fear faire
  • the new frontier trail haunt (forget the name) sucked, lack of theme, actors, lights, and they shortened it because. Laziness.
  • pirates was my favorite haunt, but even that lacked and maybe 4 actors were there.
  • so much lack of decor and spooky effects makes it look like 8th graders set most haunts up.

What happened to the giant costumed characters that used to dance near the arcade? Did I miss them this year?

All of this! And I still miss Eden Musee as well.

They have gotten so lazy and cheap, it's sad. I understand wanting to maximize profits, but it's getting bad. I only went once to Halloweekends this year because of the negative things I heard, which is basically everything listed here. And during my lone trip, it was all true.

^^thought those were brought back to MELT

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

The character signs were height markers for the various rides. (At least until the mid - 90s, because Raptor has one). Here is the pointbuzz link to show you what exactly they were:

They could update them with Peanut themed characters at ride entrances. Didn't the parking lot have areas named after rides instead of numbers? I thought I recall that back when there was tram service.

Bring back the algae blooms! Just kidding, in the last few years i’ve been most impressed with the development of breakers, the water park, and the surrounding beach. The additions and improvements have made an improvement to the felt quality of the park.

Tall and fast not so much upside down...

Steve, yes, the parking lot was divided into sections named after rides.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

^ One note on haunts, At Halloween Horror Nights, the music in the houses adds a lot to the overall theme, furthermore, scareactors don't have to "scream" or "growl" or "say boo" this is done for them by strategically placed speakers in the vicinity of the scare. I think it works well for both scareactor and guest as the "boo" is loud and startling, and it saves the voice of the scareactor.

For those of you that have never been to Halloween Horror Nights it would be hard to understand what I am saying, for those of you that have- I think you get what I'm saying,

Last year I got to Hollywood Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and I was very...disappointed. I expected so much more and felt their houses were no better than Cedar Points, they were only better staffed.

I'm sure I'm in the minority with that opinion however.

^ Keyword is Hollywood. After going to both Cedar Point and Universal Orlando's event within one week of each other (HHN 10/14, Cedar Point 10/19) there is no comparison. I had the express pass for both places.

I believe Cedar Point provides a quality product, but when you're walking through Erie Estate and there are literally 4-5 actors in the entire house, you feel a little underwhelmed when you're done.

No remember, we're talking about HOUSES. Cedar Point's outdoor scare zones, and overall park atmosphere are hands down better than Universal.

Tear down Rougarou and bring back Frontier Lift.

Then we'd have to tear down Millennium and Iron Dragon too. Doesn't seem like a good trade-off.

Strata Skyride, problem solved.

I would like something simple to return, no ride, no show, just a nice family oriented experience. Therefore lets bring back Fascination. Nothing like a exhilarating game of roller bingo. It would fit on the spot of the old Witches Wheel and would make management happy because of the increase in income.
