Arcade auction

^ I'm not sure you saw the same picture I did. The picture I saw from CP rundown was a almost empty arcade. I hope to God they have newer games in there next season. Has anyone heard anything about new machines games going in yet? I know they're working on the Forbidden trail right now, but hopefully they'll announce something about the arcade soon too.

I didn't see the picture but when I was in the arcade on closing day, the old games in back were removed but the redemption games in front were there as usual.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

The Coliseum main floor has been an arcade as far back as my memories go (early 1980's). Does anyone know exactly when it became an arcade, and what it housed immediately prior?...I've always been curious about that.

Prior to the electronic video game boom in the late 70's and early 80's, was the Coliseum full of Skee Ball, pinball, and electro-mechanical game machines? For example, I have vague memories of seeing a row of huge antiquated skeet shooting simulators.

If all the players are ready...at the sound of the bell, ROLL EM!

A picture on CP rundown facebook was posted today of how there's hardly anything in the arcade now. I hope they put in newer style games for next season.

Sure, it was taken after the park closed for the season. The redemption games and most all the rest are owned by Alpha-Bet Entertainment, and they are removed from the park over the winter for refurbishment/redeployment. Every year. I talked to the arcade manager on the last day (in the Bistro, if it matters) and he said they are contracted with Alpha-Bet for several more years.

I saw the picture Shawn is talking about, it was posted before the park closed by about 2 weeks or so. It was only of the back side of the arcade though. I wasn't in the arcade at the end of the season but from the front it seemed busy.
