I totally forgot and did not realize til earlier this hour they went on sale. I was shocked to find still on sale (and still are it looks like). Plus I was lucky enough that the time I wanted was still available, 12:30. My first time going, I can only hope that it could be snow covered there.

Well, I guess i'll see you there, ImpulsivePhoenix. Shane I feel like the reason that this sells out faster than coastermania is that for the latter you have to be a part of a coaster club. This one just requires you to be on time and pay $50.

I'd rather be sailing

Marina operations attendant 2021-2023

Skyhawk06- Yeah that could be part of it. If you add a CM ticket plus coaster club membership plus park admission it can easily be a $100+ day just to attend CoasterMania!

Nearly 6 hours later, and tickets still available for two time slots. I'm guessing the demand is much less this year.

Also, there were/are only 4 time slots available this year. I believe there were 6 last year. So either the groups are larger this year or they have reduced the number of people that can attend.

I think timing of tickets going on sale may be another factor although I would say demand was very high last year due to SV. But with this being holiday shopping season and the end of the month when everyone is usually tight on money, that may also contribute to lower sales. I know in years past they gave about 2 weeks notice when they were going on sale which allowed better budgeting.

My friend is bringing his son, who has food allergies. Where would be the best place to find out if there will be a gluten free option?

I would email the park or ask Tony on Twitter (@TonyClarkCP) But I’d plan on packing a lunch.

I believe Goofy213 is asking about lunch at WCO and not at the park during normal operations .

As of Sunday, around 1:30pm the CP site does not show any tickets left for any time slots.

It's been a while y'all! I'm looking forward to going to WCO this year...we ended up in the 9:30 time slot. This will be my 3rd WCO.

I find it very interesting that the start times are all an hour and a half from each other. As someone else mentioned, I wonder if they are doing more people per time or in general less people.

Does anyone have any guesses for what we'll see this year compared to last year? What behind the scenes tours/buildings do you think we'll see? What do you hope to see?

I heard a slight rumor, I don't necessarily agree with it, that they were going to allow for the tours to roam throughout the park at their leisure and then have certain times for those attending to be at "behind the scenes" locations.

Again, I don't necessarily agree with it, just would be a completely different way to do it.

What type of things do you think Tony and Jason will announce at this year's WCO?

Do you think they'll do the optional "Amazement Shop" tour?

Tony told us at the Great Ohio Coaster Club holiday party that the changes they made this year included allowing more people to attend. So, the individual groups will definitely be bigger. As to the logistics of how the event would be run, he did not say.

Personally not attending, but...

You'll probably see a sneak peek at what's going on with Forbidden Frontier. Probably what's replacing Witches Wheel too.

Plus maybe learn what is replacing Cedars (probably parking and a road reroute) as well as there have been some rumblings on the interwebs about Midway Market being demolished. So there could be some interesting things to see. EDIT: Just checked the webcam and the building for Midway Market is still there so maybe it's getting a complete overhaul. Who knows? lol

I'd love to have a surprise flat ride announced, but I assume if a new flat was coming we'd have heard by now.

I agree that we will get some info on Forbidden Frontier, I think that may be the big news we get. More info and maybe some drawings/digital pics, as we don't really know alot of what to expect.

I thought the laundry facility was awesome to see last year....I know lots of people weren't real interested....but, those machines were HUGE, the 'folding machine' was fun to watch. I spoke with a few of the workers while we were in there -nice guys + gal...I enjoyed seeing how that worked.

We were in the park in Dec for the Santa Hustle....counting down til the Chill Out :)

I thought that folding machine was pretty cool, could use a smaller version for my house lol!

It would be fun to walk through the corporate offices. They were not built yet in 2002 when i was an employee. Can't wait to see what replaced Witches Wheel too. No big, huge project this year (except the Forbiden Frontier), but alot of smaller projects.

DSShives's avatar

Im guessing the Cedar Fair folks wouldn't appreciate 500 people tracking mud and snow throughout the corporate offices. Plus, there wouldn't be anything to see other than a lot of closed offices and hallways with roller coaster and ride pictures on the walls.

I missed last year's WCO but looking forward to walking the park and just seeing it in the off season. Im curious if they will take us along the Boardwalk down by the Sandcastle site and see whats gong on there. Late last year, they would hauling in some massive boulders building a break wall. Im sure we will get the company phrase,"its just for future development" . There is a lot of unused beach between the new Breakers wing and the tip of the peninsula.
