Goodbye Cedars Hotel

I actually really like that idea. In addition to the reasons you put out there, they already do the fireworks on that side of the park anyway. It would give hotel guests a direct line back to the hotel, and instead of all the congestion down the Main Midway, guests would have 2 options: walk up by GateKeeper and over or take the Main Midway.

I'm still very much in favor of reducing the bend in Perimeter Road, creating more parking for the marina and adding something new for Celebration Plaza, but I think having that open space over by Wicked Twister on the former Oceana Stadium spot for Luminosity (and other shows) is a brilliant idea.

I think the issue with that would become the actual popularity of a potentially good show. The night time show in celebration plaza this past year was great, and of course with the amount of people leaving from the back of the park to the front pass through Celebration Plaza, it is greater foot traffic. The corner with Wicked Twister and Gatekeeper is near dead come closing time with the exception of the guests staying at Breakers.

I would think after rerouting perimeter road (which in turn would allow for more room for celebration plaza) and flipping the Luminosity stage so the back of the stage is facing Perimeter Road would be more ideal. It would create more walking room behind the bleachers and control booth boxes. Just a thought.

^Contrarily, you could also argue that it's better to have the show closer to the front gate, since that's where the majority of the crowd is parked. For Luminosity, anyone in the front (or even on the Magnum midway side) or the park had to back-track away from their cars in order to see the nighttime show. Putting it in the front would be convenient for the main lot guests, and also would not block foot traffic in a major artery of the park. I also like the idea.

I think having the show in the center of the park is better from of business standpoint. Sure it’s a longer walk back to your car, but gives the park once last opportunity to sell concession food and souvenirs.
